Is there a problem with Weekly Ranking report this week?
-
I just received my weekly ranking report. 2 Up, 0 down, 8 the same this week. However, last week my page was #2 for "innovation conference" and this week you report "not in top 50." My first thought was penalty, but when I searched and removed personalization, we were still #2 for that search query. So, something must be wrong with the report - either we're 1 down or "not in the top 50 is wrong."

Hi Anthony,
Just checking to make sure that this is resolved. If it hasn't sorted itself out, please email help@seomoz.org and open up a ticket. Do let them know which Google site / which country you're targeting.
Thanks!

Thanks! So now I'm looking for an explanation as to why my weekly ranking report says that I'm not in the top 50...
-
I see you ranking #2 in the SERPs for that term.
-
iirusa.com and the page that ranks for innovation conference is iirusa.com/feiusa/fei-home.xml
-
Anthony,
What is the name of your site?
thanks,
Cyle

Thanks for the suggestion, Cyle. It turns out it is the same URL from one week to the next. I still have my ranking (phew!) but those 2 elements of the report are at odds with Google, and with each other. If SEOmoz is reporting "no results in top 50" shouldn't they also be reporting "1 down" if last week the same URL was ranked #2?
-
Anthony, check and see if it is the same URL you have set up to track in the weekly report as you see in the SERPs. The same thing happened to me the other day, but it was just Google replaced my current ranking page with a different category page on my site. So, i was still ranking in the same position, but for a different page on my site.
i hope this helps,
Cyle

Inbound links not showing in reports
My clients site so far only has a few inbound links. If I do a report on MOZ/Open Site Explorer it only lists 10 domains linking in and, a number of important ones are not on that list. As an example, one of the leading UK national newspapers (Daily Telegraph) has a link on this page to the client www.vidavida.co.uk and yet this link/domain does not appear in the above reports. Is this an intentional nofollow type thing that the telegraph does and is there a way for me to check that on their site/page? http://fashion.telegraph.co.uk/news-features/TMG8655068/Holiday-travel-in-style.html Any comments most appreciated. Thanks,

What works when common ranking factors fail?
I have seen in few instances where the ranking factors doesn't seem to work for competitive keywords. The websites which don't have more than one or two links rank much higher in search results. Any clue what SEOs should do in that scenario?

Is there any way to get Moz to generate a regular (e.g. weekly) report of new links to my domain, automatically?
I want to know when new people link to my domain. I do not want to log in once a week and use a complex interface to figure this out, I want it in my inbox every week. Is there a way to get Moz to do this? (I am a PRO user) Cheers, Daniel

Why am I getting different ranking results on Google?
Because the rank checker on SEOMOZ is temporarily down for upgrade, I followed the link over to the other suggested rank checker on seobook.com which installs a plug-in to Firefox and it seems to be working fine….BUT my question is when I check out my two highest traffic keywords which are “Whitby holiday cottages” and “Whitby cottages” against my website www.endeavourcottage.co.uk it tells me I'm ranking position 2 on both Google.com and Google.co.uk but I don't think I am. When I do the same check using a proxy server called hidemyass.com to check my rankings again on Google.co.uk and .com I appeared to be lower down the rankings like position 8. Does anyone have any idea of which is the accurate reference to my rankings? What do you do to check your rankings ? And one last quick secondary question is when I searching Google chrome using same key words again I come at the top position A on the Google maps listing but using Firefox or Internet Explorer there is no Google maps visible ways that? At the end of the day out rankings are important but where are working towards more traffic...... Cheers

Local Rankings Drop?
G'morning! I got a disturbing report this morning that showed seven of our big keywords drop from high on the first page to not in the top 50. After further research I have found that we are now in Google's local cluster, but no longer on the traditional organic results. My question is this, has Google changed something that doesn't allow results in the local cluster AND in the traditional organic listings? I'm assuming that this is the case because we're doing smart SEO and have built these rankings up nicely over time, but then just fell off the face of the earth. I have attached a snapshot of Moz's Ranking History for a few of the keywords, as I assume this will help explain the story. (We're in green). Any insight would be much appreciated. How can I find my past KW rankings?
I want to know how I can find out how a client's site was ranking for keywords at the beginning of the campaign so I can compare it with current rankings. I haven't been generating reports regularly. I kinda assumed I could ask for the reports retroactively. As in, what was the ranking of my keywords from the first crawl done by SEO moz. Thanks!
