Purchased domain

We purchased the existing domain www.LancasterPA.com two years ago to promote local businesses. While individual pages within the site are ranking well, we can't get the home page to rank at all in Google. Would there be anything in the history of the domain that could be standing in the way? Or, what else could we check? Our other regional websites are ranking really well. Thanks.

Thanks for your comment. The home page for LancasterPA.com isn't in the top 50 for

Lancaster

Lancaster, PA

Lancaster, Pennsylvania
Those would be our main keywords. I'll re-think our current structure, but I'd welcome other suggestions. Eventually I'd like to move our other site (www.800PaDutch.com) to this domain, but I first want to make sure there isn't an issue with the home page ranking well.

What keywords are you trying to rank for? The title for your home page reads: Lancaster, PA | Lancaster County Information Center
If I type "Lancaster PA information", your home page ranks well. I'm guessing you're trying to rank for something else, so why not start with the basics and optimize the title/description and headings to target your chosen keywords?

Unique Geo-targeted domains v. simple landing pages
I have a client with multiple locations in a central area. Is it better to purchase unique geo-targeted domains i.g. DowntownTopekaPlumber.com and MidtownTopekaPlumber.com and create area specific splash pages with links back to the main site -OR - is it better to simply create landing pages on the main domain - www.GoodGuyPlumbing.com/DownttownTopekaPlumber?

Can Page Authority of a site be higher than its Domain Authority?
I own a website called Takeyourtips.com. While doing a search no Google, I found that the page authority of the home page (31) is higher than the domain authority (23). I was wondering if it's really possible because my understanding was page authority of a page is determined by its domain authority. Therefore, it the domain authority of a website is 23, none of its page could have a higher page authority. Plus, upon consulting an SEO expert, I was told that neither Domain Authority or Page Authority of a page carries any importance as far as higher ranking of a website is concerned. Is this true? Thanks in advance for the answers. Cheers, Sushant large

Redirecting to an exact match root domain: good, bad, or neutral?
We have a client who wants to secure an exact match domain for their new website, but it's very long. They're wondering about securing an additional domain that is much shorter for marketing purposes (business cards, email addresses, etc). We would then 301 redirect the short domain to the main domain. Are we going to see negative SEO implications from that?

Keyword domains
Hello, I am the proprietor of RacquetSource.com, Is there any merit to using keyword domains and have them redirect to the site, or a specific page on the site? For Example, the keyword term, Squash Racquets, if I were to purchase a domain name, squash-racquets.com and have it redirect to http://www.racquetsource.com/squash-racquets-s/95.htm will this effect positively to my search ranking of the keyword term Squash Racquets? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Geoff

How to go after a domain name when the whois info is incorrect.
I found a domain that I'd really like to buy. It's currently active but has just a single image on it (that links to an affiliate product). I'd like to see if the owner would like to sell it to me. But, when I emailed the address that's listed with the whois info it bounced back. Any ideas on how else I can buy this domain?
