Any value in external links to image files?
-
Let's say you have www.example.com. On this website, you have www.example.com/example-image.jpg. When someone links externally to this image - like below... { is <
{a href="www.example.com/example-image.jpg"} {img src="www.example.com/example-image.jpg"} {/a}
The external site would be using the image hosted on your site, but the image is also linked back to the same image file on your site. Does this have any value even though the link is back to the image file and not the website?
Also - how much value do you guys feel image links have in relation to tech links? In terms of passing link juice and adding to a natural link profile.
Thanks!

This is an interesting idea.To maximize your SEO benefits I would:
- Make the image link back to the post on my site not the image itself.
- Provide an alt attribute for the image tag
- Provide a title attribute for the link
Image links have less value then text links. How much benefit will this stategy really give you is tough to quantify. It depends on how many sites are republishing content from your RSS feed, what the quality of those sites are and how relevant the are to your site's industry.
Having the image link back to a post on your site has the added benefit that if someone reads a post on another site on in their RSS feed and clicks the image they'll be taken to your post. Every additional visit to your site is a chance to capture another new reader.
Images don't have a ton of value.

Pricing value pages
We have the main pricing page here: https://www.eginnovations.com/product/pricing Then depending on what you click, you'll be taken to the appropriate form on one of these pages: https://www.eginnovations.com/product/request-quote?pricetype=audit https://www.eginnovations.com/product/request-quote?pricetype=saas https://www.eginnovations.com/product/request-quote?pricetype=perpetual https://www.eginnovations.com/product/request-quote?pricetype=subscription How should I handle these? Noindex, follow? Set a canonical? I keep getting notifications that these are duplicate content, but it's just a way to keep the form fills organized. Thanks for your help!

Is it possible to export Inbound Links in a CSV file categorized by Linking Root Domains ?
Hi, I am performing an analysis of the total inbound links to my homepage and I would like to have the total amount of inbound links categorized by the Linking root domains. For example, the Open Site explorer does offer the feature to show you the Linking Root Domains to your page. Then when you click on the first Linking Root Domain, it also shows you the Top Linking Pages ( Which means all the pages that link to your page from this particular top level domain) Now I would like to export this data to a CSV file, but open site explorer only exports the total amount of top level linking domains. Does anyone has a solution to this problem ? Thank you very much for the help in advance!

Nofollow internal links
Hi, we have problems with having too many links on page. Our website has a menu with 3 level sub-navigation drop down for categories which we want to maintain, for easy-navigation for the users. http://www.redwrappings.com.au/ After reading this article: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/questions-answers-with-googles-spam-guru, and some other articles, we came up with a solution. We can easily reduce the number of links per page by putting 'nofollow' on our categories links menu dropdown and create a separate 'landing page' that contains links to these categories (and allow 'follow' links for robots). Is it wise to do this? Or any better, easy solution that you can suggest? Thanks
