Subdomains at Yola, Blogger, Wordpress

If the purpose of constructing a site or blog is for SEO ie a linking microsite, is it better to keep as a subdomain or to register on its own domain. The question is how much of the Domain Authority of that site will flow through the subdomain to linked site. I note that these subdomains have PA of 1, does this answer my own question?? Thanks

This is correct, Rand Fishkin actually did a blog post a few years back stating that it is more valuable to have a blog located in the site's sub directory as apposed to a sub domain. So I would assume that if your creating site that will encourage links to it, it would be more beneficial to create it in the subdirectory so that the popularity will be transferred to the master domain.

Are you saying that even a micro site with relevant keyword url, relevant title tag will not be counted as a relevant back link by googlebot and in isolation without any links...
That is my opinion. I do not use this method.
(or more than a few)
If you can get a few links into a subdomain you could also get those same links into your main site. If they hit the subdomain then only a tiny amount can be transfered through links back to your master domain. However if those same links hits pages on your master domain then the master domain gets much more value.

I vote for option #3.
These microsites will not pass any GOOGLE VALUE unless they have links into them from other indexed pages. If you can get those links into them then only a fraction of that link value will pass back to your master domain. Therefore, it would be better to place whatever content you would put on those subdomains into a folder on your master domain. Then any links into them from outside of your own domain will pass all of their value to the master domain.
Lots of people think that they can "manufacture" valuable links by building satellite sites or creating phony subdomains. I think that google has been too smart to value them for a long time - if they ever did.

Geo ip filtering / Subdomain can't be crawled
My client has "load balancing" site traffic in the following way: domain: www.example.com traffic from US IP redirected to usa.example.com traffic from non-US IP redirected to www2.example.com The reason for doing this is that site contents on the www2 contains herbal medicine info banned by FDA."usa.example.com" is a "cleaned" site. Using HK IP, when I google an Eng keyword, I can see that www.example.com is indexed. When googling a Chi keyword, nothing is indexed - neither the domain or www2 subdomain. From Google Search Console, it shows a Dell Sonicwall geo ip filtering alert for www2 (Connection initiated from country: United States). GSC data also confirms that www2 has never been indexed by Google. Questions: Is geo ip filtering the very reason why www2 isn't indexed? What should I do in order to get www2 to be indexed? Thanks guys!

Utilising Wordpress Attachment Pages Without Getting Duplicate Content Warnings.
I have a wordpres site that relies heavily on images and their usefulness. Each post links to larger sizes of the images with links back to the post and the "gallery" all images uploaded to the post. Unfortunately this goes against the "rules" and our attachment page show as duplicate content in Google (even though the image titles are different). There must be a way to utlise and make the most of attachment pages without getting duplicate content warnings?

Getting mixed signals regarding how Google treats subdomains
All the posts I've read here and elsewhere regarding subdomains come to a similar conclusion, avoid using them because they are treated as a separate site -- and everything that goes along with that. But on my site we have a subdomain on a separate server and it's treated as internal. Also this from Hubspot - "**Use a subdomain of your website like Blog.HubSpot.com. **This is a great idea and this is what we do currently at HubSpot. Many companies have their blog on a subdomain, and it seems to be starting to be somewhat of a standard. The search engines are treating subdomains more and more as just portions of the main website, so the SEO value for your blog is going to add to your main website domain." Any help clarifying this would be greatly appreciated!

Wordpress Woocomerce Recommended SEO URL structure
Hi Mozzers ! Thanks for looking. I have a new shop in development (http://www.vintageheirloom.biz), I'm now using WordPress & Woocommerce. I've asked Woocommerce whether it is possible to remove the 'shop' and 'product-category' categories. They say it is, but it isn't recommended, it can slow site speed & create possible duplicate pages. I'm wondering what seasoned SEO experts opinions are on my particular structure? I've heard that a flat structure is recommended, but ecommerce shops as I understand pose their own issues, so any feedback would be appreciated.. Here's some URL examples: http://vintageheirloom.biz/shop/bags/ - this for the category bags http://vintageheirloom.biz/product-category/bags/shoulder-bags/ - this for shoulder bags a child of bags category http://vintageheirloom.biz/shop/2-55-bags/vintage-chanel-caviar-skin-2-55-bag/ - a product The last URL contains the category 2-55 bags. The products name also includes the phrases 2-55 bag. Should this level of repetition be avoided or is it best to keep the whole phrase 'vintage-chanel-caviar-skin-2-55-bag/' for SEO purposes? Thanks for any help you can give me around this issue! Kevin

Help needed with robots.txt regarding wordpress!
Here is my robots.txt from google webmaster tools. These are the pages that are being blocked and I am not sure which of these to get rid of in order to unblock blog posts from being searched. http://ensoplastics.com/theblog/?cat=743 http://ensoplastics.com/theblog/?p=240 These category pages and blog posts are blocked so do I delete the /? ...I am new to SEO and web development so I am not sure why the developer of this robots.txt file would block pages and posts in wordpress. It seems to me like that is the reason why someone has a blog so it can be searched and get more exposure for SEO purposes. IS there a reason I should block any pages contained in wodrpress?
