On what report do I get to know where do the external links come from?
-
I need to get a list of the external links. I don't find that report, where do I get it?
-
You can also get these from Google Webmasters - http://www.google.com/webmasters/
If you don't have a GA account this is ESSENTIAL - So Sign up!

Do the same for Bing! http://www.bing.com/toolbox/webmaster/
and Yahoo Site Explorer http://siteexplorer.search.yahoo.com/
--
When you are the the HOME page - select your site by clicking the link under SITES
Click the + next to Your Site On The Web - then Links To Your Site
Then click More >>
Download ALL Links
and save the CSV file that contains a list of all external links to your site.
-
First you need to setup your site in a campaign. You can do that by clickjing the grey "Start a new campaign" button. Once that is done and SEOmoz has time to crawl/run your reports, you can see external backlinks by clicking on your campaign, then clicking on the "Link Analysis" tab, then if you scroll down you will see a preview of all "Followed Backlinks". There is a brief list there and you can export a full list by clicking "Export to CSV"
If you are wanting to run a simple backlink report you can just use Open Site Explorer : www.opensiteexplorer.org

Curious, anyone ever had over half of their indexed links drop on an e-commerce site?
In a year went from around 300k indexed pages to around >100k according to GWT. Could this be duplicate content issue, lost links, spam, aged links or all of the above? either way an audit is in order. Thanks! Chris

Is there an automated way to determine which pages of your website are getting 0 traffic?
I'm doing a content audit on my company website and want to identify pages with zero traffic. I can use GA for low traffic, but not zero traffic. I can do this manually, but it would take a long time. Are there any tools to help me determine these pages?

No Data in Custom Report set to 'Hit' Scope
Hi Guys, Been having a problem recently with a custom report I have set up... I want to find out number of sessions, bounce rate, session duration etc for different dimensions on my site - store area, store name, product type etc but I cannot seem to get the data to filter through to the report I have set up when 'Session' scope is selected. If I set it to 'hit' then I do get the data but this will only record the first instance of a dimension being triggered (from what I can gather) rather than all dimensions that might be triggered during a complete session. Has anyone experienced similar problems? Thanks, Dan

How to Detect Links within PDFs
Hi All, I have a funny situation that I would like some advice on handling... There are a handful of domains that were created several years ago in support of an offline to online campaign. These domains are simply vanity domains that use an IFrame at 100% to show the content of another page. Essentially, the content of the sites I manage are embedded into the frame on the vanity URL. Since I do not monitor or have access to any analytics for the vanity URLs, is there a way to tell how others are discovering those vanity URLs? As stated above, they were used on direct mail flyers two years ago and never appeared online. However, I still get a good deal of traffic from them and cannot believe people have hung onto those flyers in such volume. I have used Open Site Explorer for the vanity URLs, which show no links existing anywhere online. I am wondering if the vanity URLs may exist in pdf lists of local businesses that match my category, etc. Is there any way to tell how traffic finds those vanity URLs without analytics or discovered links through link profiling tools?

Google Analytics VS target="_blank" internal links: How much wrong is it?
I am working on an e-commerce website, and our CEO is sure that having target="_blank" in internal search result is boosting the conversion (not sure, but it's not an issue at the moment). The problem is that Google Analytics sees all URLs visited from search results as entrances/direct visits, hence the Booking Funnel Tracking does not work as it was supposed to. Is there any way to recover the tracking? Or we shall get the rid of target="_blank" attribute?
