301 Redirect Domains with old links
-
I came across a nice discovery of about 20 old domain names that each have many root domains and a bit of DA. I want to know the best way to utilize them without any type of penalty.
Currently, (as of an hour ago) I am 301 redirecting all of them to the most relative pages on a single domain.
Will i get the majority of the link juice from the domains? I'm excited to see what will happen here.
Thanks in advance,
Daniel

Yes

Your actions are perfect. You are redirecting them to relative pages on your site. As long as the pages are truly relevant, then you should be in great shape. The basic test is, will a visitor be happy they found the page you are directing them to? Or will they have more of a "what the heck is this" reaction?
If you have re-directed the pages well, you will retain 90%+ of the link juice. How long that juice will last is dependent on several factors, some of which dignan shared.

It truly depends on what was done with the domain previous to them coming for purchase, or before you "found" them. There is also the potential that someone purposely built up the rank only to abuse it, and the rank has not dropped yet.
If the PR's are legitimate and rather high, I might consider turning them into effective blogs on the subject they are dealing with and trying to maintain or improve it. I also might see if I have clients that might need the domain for their business.
I do know that Google pays attention to this stuff, so if utilized poorly it could have a negative outcome due to "trickery."

Effects of a bad link linking to a image
i am getting a lot of links from wallpapers sites.. One person has created 1000's of similar sites that are linking back to my images. My guess is images do not pass link value positive or negative. But I am not sure what the potential effects would be. Does anyone know who linking to images might effect SEO especially when there coming from horribly low quality auto generated sites.

External links - link to third party sites
Greetings! Actually, got an doubt on linking to external site. The thing, i have working for roof marketers site. They have covered roof products. Each of the products have a page along with major keyword. Actually, i do link from other pages[internally]. Meaning,if i see any main keywords in different page then will link that to corresponding page/product[internally].This is what i am doing to get page rank. Now, my doubt. Some of the pages are having link with main keywords which directs to the third party site those who are really producing the products. But, i remove the third party-link which has with main keywords. Since already the site/my client site having pages for that main keywords. But client really want that link. meaning the links which they have given to direct to third party[product producer] site. So what should i do at this case. Can i just past RAW link like [http://www.thirdpartysite.com] or what do i do. But my client wants that link to be in content area. Hope you would understand my long explanation and case Please help us. Thank you

When do my links show up?
For the last two weeks I have been working on linkbuilding. I have downloaded competitors link reports and started contacting or submitting links. In the last two weeks I have gotten about 50-60 or so. In the newest report it shows I went up four c-blocks. Why is that? It is kind of discouraging.

9306 inbound links but onle 143 root domains?
I need help with my link building efforts so I have started to search around for companies and/or freelance contractors to hire. I always ask for examples of sites they are working on. In many cases the number of inbound links are high (9306) compared to the number of root domains that are linked to (143). Or as in this sample (120792) inbound links compared to (157) linking domains http://www.shortsalesafe.com. How can this be? To me the only logical answer is "link farms" or some other form of black hat magic. Am I right in my assumption, or is there another logical answer for so many links with so few linking domains.? Thanks Gary
