Open Site Explorer - Showing No links
-
Hello,
I have ran Link Analysis report in Site Explorer for my client qtmoving.com
http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/comparisons?site=www.qtmoving.com
These competitors are the top 3 that consistently appear in the Local
Search top 7 or the Local Search Blended SERP.I don't understand why I have No Internal Followed Links, no Internal Links, and only 2 external followed and external links. This doesn't make sense to me because I know there are links internally and that there are some sites that link back to us:
I'm not sure how this can happen when we have the following sites that
link to us:
http://www.bbb.org/manitoba/business-reviews/moving-storage-companies/quick-transfer-ltd-in-winnipeg-mb-14125
http://www.yelp.ca/biz/quick-transfer-ltd-winnipeg
http://www.ourbis.com/617657-quick-transfer-ltd-winnipegYour help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Lyn

Two of the three links look like they're in javascript and wouldn't be picked up as a straight link. For all of the links, keep in mind that Linkscape only crawls about the top 25% of the web, so your count in OSE may not reflect all of your links. Also, the links are updated about once a month, when you account for the time it takes to crawl the web then process the links.
How long have you had the links in place? It can take up to 60 days for Linkscape to find the links if it is crawling those pages.

Link's that are an internal site search?
Hi hope your're all well. I sell Red, Blue, Green Widgets within each color I have many sub types, the subtypes change all the time, and a sub type has many variations in itself. I'd like to set up links that direct customers to popular searches of sub types say: widgets.com/red/blue-spots....search string... Will Google crawl these search links and see that there is good content behind it? How does Google handle links that are also a site search? Can it be bad and should I "no follow" them? Hope someone can give me some direction on these, many thanks in advance!

Paid links that are passing link equity from a blog?
We have a well-known blogger in our industry with whom we've had a long-standing relationship. We've had inbound links from his blog for many, many years. Today I noticed that we are running a banner ad listed on all pages of his blog under a heading that says "Sponsors." He has dedicated an entire page of his site giving full disclosure of all advertising. However, all of the links on his site pointing to us are passing link equity. To my knowledge they've been this way ever since they were first established years ago. I am fairly certain this fellow, with whom we have an excellent relationship, neither knows nor cares what a "nofollow" attribute is. I am afraid that if I contact him with a request that he add "nofollow" attributes to all of our links that it will damage our relationship by creating friction. To someone who knows nothing and cares nothing about SEO, asking them to put a "nofollow" on a link could either seem like a technical request they don't know how to handle, or something even potentially "shady" on our part. My question is this: Considering how long these links have been there, is this even worth worrying about? Should I just forget about it and move on to bigger fish, or, is this a potentially serious enough violation of Google Webmaster guidelines that we should pursue getting those links "nofollow" attributes added? I should add that we haven't received any "unnatural" link notifications from Google, ever, and haven't ever engaged in any questionable link-building tactics.

Links in Webmaster Tools that aren't really linking to us
I've noticed that there is a domain in WMT that Google says is linking to our domain from 173 different pages, but it actually isn't linking to us at all on ANY of those pages. The site is a business directory that seems to be automatically scraping business listings and adding them to hundreds of different categories. Low quality crap that I've disavowed just in case. I have hand checked a bunch of the pages that WMT is reporting with links to us by viewing source, but there's no links to us. I've also used crawlers to check for links, but they turn up nothing. The pages do, however, mention our brand name. I find this very odd that Google would report links to our site when there isn't actually links to our site. Has anyone else ever noticed something like this?

What do I do with these back links?
In the last two weeks, I've got 10 pingbacks from this http://caraccidentlawyer.cc/coroner-ids-berkeley-bodies-who-were-killed-in-recent-car-accident/ and sites like it. The featured attorney is a competitor of ours and, since the links aren't sex/drugs/rock&roll related, (and he's linked too) I doubt this is a negative SEO campaign, but I want it to stop. These blogs are basically pure spam. Any suggestions?
