Do links to blog.domainname.com help the www.domainname.com subdomain?
-
Hi,
Do links to pages within the blog.domainname.com subdomain help the rankings of pages within the main www.domainname.com subdomain? (where "domainname" is the same of course).
Thanks.

Hi Geoff
The link below contains an article which may be of interest about when it is best to use one over the other.

However I agree with EGOL's response.
Hope this helps.

If blog.domainname.com/page.html gets a link it will pass some value to www.domainname.com if there are links on blog.domainname.com that connect to www.domainname.com. However, most of the power will stay in blog.domainname.com.
If your goal in blogging is to strengthen www.domainname.com by the addition of fresh content and acquisition of natural links then your blog should be located at... www.domainname.com/blog

Linking Root Domains www and non-www
I just ran our site through Open Site Explorer. If I run the non-www version I get 30 root domains, if I run www I get 177. Is it wise to try and contact those sites using the non-www version and ask them to update the links to www version? Will that make much of a difference?

Links from my Own Blog to my Own Website and Link Scheme
Hi There, I use my own blog to give advices and offer information related to my business service. Of course in terms of SEO my blog is useful not only to expand my brand presence but also to acquire long-tail traffic. I use to insert a maximum of one link with a relative matching anchor text in every article of my blog pointing to my own webpage. Said that, the questions are as follows: Am I involuntarily participating in a Link Scheme with my blog? And If so, how many links can I send to my own webpage ? Shall I limit the number of links to a minimum? Thanks a lot for your advices.

Is it better to have a blog under your main website's domain or should the company's blog have its own domain?
Is it better to have a blog under your main website's domain or should the company's blog have its own domain? And if the blog is on its own domain, do links to the main site look good or bad to Google? Thanks! (And please feel free to add any other related advice you might have...)

Link building with About.com and ehow.com
Does anyone know if About.com has a policy on providing back links to websites. A client of mine has had a product reviewed on about.com as well as being included in a "how to" article, but no back link was provided. I checked out the page and noticed "paid for advertisement" back links over random words but no back links on any of the pages I randomly searched that were related to the topic being discussed.

Is there a tool available to identify whether you already have a link for a specific blog/website?
Hi there, There are a couple of us in the office that are involved in link building - and sometimes it's difficult to keep track of where everybody is trying to build links. Does anybody know if there is a tool available where users can input both website addresses to check whether you already have a link from the desired website? Thanks in advance for your help.

Will No Follow Links count toward your root domain links for Domain Authority?
I am wondering if no follow links help, hurt, or do nothing when it comes to increasing page and domain authority? I know they are not supposed to pass rank and I have read discussions that some people suspect they still might, but I am wondering if I have a mix of follow plus no follow, will the no follow ones increase the count of the root domains linking to me and help boost my authority? Assuming of course the no follow links are coming from quality sites with high page and domain authority of their own. Thanks.
