Clicks from emails
-
Can Google know how many clicks a website has received from emails ? What if the GA is not installed ?
-
Atul, did this answer your question, or are you needing some more help?
-
just re-read your question and it seems that I didn't read your question properly before asking.
So I'll try again: When ppl open an email and click the link, the only way Google can tell where they are coming form is look at the referrer. Meaning if the user comes from an email, lets say he opened it in outlook, google can't see where he comes from. It will track a visit such as this as a direct visit. if the opened from a webmail (gmail, hotmail ex.) the webmail client will be the referrer. But that could just as well have been a link he was send from a friend. Or a commercial in another newsmail from an affiliate site.
Without GA installed Google is as blind as a bat and can only track traffic to the site from google search or other google programs/products. What and how much data it tracks from chrome I don't know (haven't researched it, besides what they tell the public and what they might do are two very different things, they have been naughty boys before.)
I hope that answered your question.

Millions of people use Google Chrome as their default browser. For those that do, Google has access to the data.
-
"Did the click open your Google Chrome browser?"
Would you please clarify this ?
-
I guess I made an assumption and thought he was asking if he could see the info Google has on email clicks even if GA is not installed. Without that assumption, you are right.
-
Google has plenty of ways of knowing what is happening whether you have GA installed or not.
-
Was the click from a GMail account?
-
Did the click open your Google Chrome browser?
-
Did the click happen while you were using Google's WiFi service?
Google Knows a lot more then people think. At least, they have access to the data. How and where they use that data is constantly being analyzed and changed, but they have the ability to track an unbelievable amount of detail.

when using google analytics you can easily trace your news mails by doing something like this: when you link from a news mail, you add a query string to the end of the URL, to look something like this:
or if your referring to a specific article (in old/bad CMS's they can already contain querystrings at the end of the URL, then you just add the following.
doing that you can easily track the news mail links in google analytics. Measure bounce rates exc.
since it's very onlikely that your CMS is looking for a var called newsmail this method will not effect your site and will give you an easy way to track the hits from your mails.

Internal Clicks and CTR. Is REL=canonical better than Noindex in this case?
I currently have a search facility in a website that noindexes the search results which is ok. But when you click one of the results it takes you to a product which is noindexes as it has URL params. e.g. https://www.visitliverpool.com/accommodation/albion-guest-house-p305431?bookurl=%2Fbook-online%3Fstage%3Dunitsel%26isostartdate%3D2017-10-31%26nights%3D1%26roomReq_1_adults%3D1%26NumRoomReqs%3D1%26fuzzy%3D0%26product%3D305431 The product also exists as this which is indexed : - https://www.visitliverpool.com/accommodation/albion-guest-house-p305431 Should I canonicalise is this instance instead of no index? Does CTR apply to internal links? i.e. Does search console consider internal clicks? Are internal clicks a ranking factor?

Manual Action Email Notifications
Is it me or you don't get (and not supposed to) email notifications when your site gets a manual action penalty? I mean I can see it in the Google Webmaster Tools interface, but I never get notifications in my Inbox. Is that how it works or I just need to set it up somehow?

Separate Email for Separate G+Local Listing?
Client decided to keep restaurant and catering businesses completely separate, so he's gotten a suite number and a separate landline. He already set up and claimed the restaurant G+Local/Places page using his personal gmail address. I need to set up the catering G+Local page, but of course he's not crazy about giving me the login to his personal gmail account. But maybe, since they're completely separate businesses, I really should go set up hiscateringbusiness@gmail.com and start fresh with the catering page? I also have an email address, contact@hiscateringbusiness.com, but it seems like Google never likes these. How do you recommend that I set up the catering G+Local pages? (This would also presumably be for Analytics and Webmaster Tools for the domain too.) Should I just start fresh? Can I even do it with a non-gmail account? Or will Google slap him for two unmerged accounts, even though they're for separate businesses? (I've looked all over the place and it looks like that it's still true that he can't just change the email associated with the restaurant G+ page... no?) Thank you!

Looking for suggestions on email outreach title/content
Hello, We created a "How to choose a product" PDF that we are marketing to resource pages and blogs in four appropriate niches. It's good, unique content that's useful. The PDF has it's own non-commercial page. We will be doing email outreach with buzzstream. Is it important to never ask for a link in the first email? We're offering one of the following four in exchange for the link (they get to choose one): 1. A link back on one of our other sites in the same niche (not reciprocal link) 2. $100 in adwords traffic including up to 20 keywords. 3. Facebook share of their URL 4. Tweet of their URL Let me stop there and see what your feedback is. We're looking for (about) how many emails to send out building relationships before making the above offer. Or is there some way to make the offer immediately? Also, what makes a good subject line? Rand seems to indicate that you can make the offer right away in this whiteboard friday but every other article and video I've watched have said to build a relationship first. Any help is appreciated. We'll be writing all completely custom, researched outreach emails, carefully crafted.

Google + under Google business domain email account
Hello there, I have a quick and straight question and I am hoping to find answer here. What do we do with a G+ profile that was set up through a business domain's email account that is used by more than one person? We want to use the company name, but we can't as it is considered personal email account although it is under business domain verified by Google. Is there a way that we ask Google to change it and allow us to use the name of the company or should we just deactivate it? Thanks in advance!

Multiple Google+ Local (Google Place) under one email address
As a automotive dealership group, we have 15+ business listings set up under one Google+ local account. Google+ Local (Google Places) offers the ability to upload a data file for 10+ listings, so we've kept all listings under one login for efficiency. Is there any specific local SEO benefit or any general benefit at all to having each business listing set up under their own separate email address?
