How Do You Link Build For Clients That Have Static Pages & No Resources For Social Media?
-
Hey,
I have recently come across a client that wants link building services.
- It's a lead generating 'side business' that has no physical address (nor do they want one associated)
- They will 5 or 6 static pages
- They have no resources to spare for social media activity
What would you do in this situation?
Thanks.

The client does not want to be associated with a physical location making directory listings very difficult.
Sponsorship is a great idea though.

Thanks for your responses guys. It really shows how 'web savvy creativity' goes a long way in link building.
The guest blogging is perhaps the stand out method of link building in this case. The industry is about a new Australian Government scheme, most of the users will be information shoppers. As such, I think going down the video path for content creation is a great option which I will suggest.

Like EGOL said, this looks like a job for a magician.
Can you craft infographics? Those are pretty cool and go a long way on Stumble. Also some video tutorials on the topic might help.
There was also this one approach of selecting a couple of images and creating a screensaver with some app. These can be submitted to software catalog sites. I haven't used that one for a couple of years so I don't know if it would work.
Also, being inspired by Devin's idea on web design galleries, I can suggest the opposite. If the site looks somewhat ugly (no offense) you can build up a cosmo type of list - 20 Of The Ugliest (your niche -optional) Websites.
It is only a couple of pages, so if they can write it in html5 with css3, adding something cool, you can submit is as a example of the new capabilities of the technology. It can also give you a good reason to comment on similar articles and get links back.
*About the infographics idea. You don't need to be very familiar with graphic editor. If you can take a decent picture and put some nice looking boxes with pieces of data here and on specific elements of the topic related picture, then you should be good to go.

It's certainly not an ideal situation you're in, but Guest Blogging is one strategy that can definitely work extremely well since you can control what pages on the client's site get linked to. The question is, if they don't have the budget or resources for social media, can they (or you?) produce quality articles and blog posts to place as guest posts?

Some linkbuilding jobs require a magician. Maybe this is a job to decline?

@Devin, I love your ideas. Some inspiring creativity!
@The Search Guys, does this site have any content which others would WANT to link to? If the answer is yes, then leverage that content. If the answer is no, then someone, somehow needs to create that content.
Lead generation is an extremely social business. I have difficulty understanding the desire to avoid social media with this type of business. If I accept the "no social media" rule, there needs to be regularly generated articles with exceptional content which shares knowledge and offers advice that people will want to know. Then it would be your job to ensure people do know about the content and earn the links.

This might be a slightly ridiculous suggestion - but try to look at everything they have as content.
Do they have a website? yes. Is it maybe good enough to submit to web design galleries.
Do they have a logo? Logo design galleries.
Is their workspace or office nice or creative in any way? Google cool office workspaces and have a scout around for a workspace appreciation website. If you can think of it, there's probably a website for it.
Where your clients are lacking in creative resources you need to pick up the slack!

You could look at guest posts and reviews of some kind?
You could also maybe look at local stuff, see if there are any good local directories, sponsor local sports teams, get involved with charities and local events etc - can generate some good links.

SEO value of home page links
I was looking at the website peak7.org and there are links on the homepage that rotate at the bottom. Do such links have SEO value even though they are not static text links? Are they still counted as links by Google if they are in that rotating carousel?

Link juice - What could be the reason for our bad internal page Page Authority
So OK we have a domain authority currently of 41, we are well established but unfortunately we don't have any pages with PA. I have a fair idea of why this is the case but want to get some other opinions before I form my strategy. 1.It appears our internal link structure is not great and is not very organised 2. It appears we have 58 links going externally on some pages. Some of these external links are social media icons in the footer which are followed. Is there any other factors I should be aware of when building PA on some of my inner pages. Any Thoughts would be appreciated.

Internal Link Building and Link Juice Quality
Hi There! I manage the website for a law office that covers many geographical locations. For very specific niche content, we would prefer to create one piece of content and link to the various geographic locations where we would handle that topic instead of posting multiple variations of the same content for each specific geographical area. If we put a button on these pages that has links to each location, will that have the same "link juice" effect to the pages we're linking that linking directly in the text would? (example: the Where can we help you? button on this page : http://www.zdfirm.com/volkswagen-recall/) Thank you!

'Too many links' on our pages.
This figure includes links that sit within our navigational menus. Is there a way to block this somehow so that Google and Moz do not read them as 'internal links'? Thanks in advance.

Frequency of Manual Link Building Monitoring
Hey Moz! We're in the middle of performing a link remediation campaign, and had a question regarding new links. We do not acquire any links through methods that break Google's guidelines, but we recently discovered a suspicious link to our website that happened organically. What is the recommended frequency for manually checking all newly discovered links to our website in order to catch/remove toxic links? Monthly? Bi-monthly? Yearly? Thanks in advance!
