'dilution' of link value.

Running ecommerce site selling childrens clothing for norwegian market. Most important keyword childrens clothing (barneklær) isnt too competitive (34 if i remember correct). The 2nd most important has very low competition (5 i think).
I am starting a 3 month add with the best blog i found in norway. I am getting a 150x150 ad. In addition she is giving me a presentation in her blog tekst and allows me to arrange giveaway on my terms. She is allowing me to choose anchor text to use in presentation. Her stats to me seem very solid PA 58, DA 50 mozr 5,2 , mozt 4,6. http://www.joridkvam.com/
Should I in the upcoming months try to get in as many anchor texts links from her to different pages on my site. I have main words and producers etc that i am optimizing for on differnt sites. Or will the value of them just get diluted? so basically try to get in 2 links or 10 ?
I am also curious as to which extent this one link will affect my ratings. I am ranking 24th for main term atm ( http://www.epleskrinet.no/ ) . Any one have any guesses ?
thanks

Thanks for your help. I am working on it day by day. She is hosting a giveaway for me in a couple of weeks . Most likely 10-15 other minor blogs will link to me as a result of it. Have another major blog coming up next week. Planning a tweet that i hope i can get to 'go viral' +++.

Getting links from that site is a good thing but I would advice you to work at getting links from other sites as well. remember to focus on your niche so you get top quality links from your niche. And always try to get the right anchor text but remember to vary the anchor text or Google will get suspicious. It's not often that one site gets 100 links to a single page with the same key phrase as anchor text and the SE's know this.

It might be still to early to know, but she released the article yesterday. It contained links to front page with 2 diff anchor text keywords and to 2 other pages with other anchor text. I got around 250 clicks same day and in the afternoon i noticed that ranking had gone from 24th-->21st and 36th --> 29th for 2 main keywords around 12 hours after release.

You might a bit. But more links are (almost) always better. You should try to get both high quality links and some low quality (easy) links. The easy links (yes link catalogues) can work quite well if done in conjunction with the heigh quality links. Sure they won't be as effective as the high quality ones but allot easier to get. But try to keep a reasonable spread, for each heigh quality link try to get 5 or so low. Keep a natural link acquisition rate.

Thanks for your reply. I still dont have a ton of linking root domains. But should be up to around 30-40. I try to vary anchor text when i get the chance to dictate it. Yes i am optimizing for different keywords on different pages and all dont go to the front page.
To refrace my question. I do have 2 keywords on frontpage which is my main focus and that i find most important (50k clicks a month). From this relatively decent page mentioned i have the possibility to get several keywords in and link them to different pages and not only frontpage. Will i weaken the linkflow to my main keywords if I make her in a later article link to 4-5 other keywords (eg 'brandnameofclothing' - only 4-5k clicks/month) that each have a separate page that i optimize.
In other words i dont want to sacrifice the link value that i get to my main keywords if that is significantly lessened by adding more achor text keywords.

depending on the competion one link won't have a huge effect. But more will help allot. But more links even from only one site is always better then none. But try to get links from other sites as well and try to vary the anchor texts and the pages you get links for. Not all links should be to your frontpage. But a PR4-5 link will work but don't expect a miracle from only one linking root domain.
Our company blog started out with a completely new domain. 3 months later, with almost no link building and roughly 10 domains pointing to it (1 PR 5) it has a PR of 3 closing in on 4.) ok we have done allot of tweeting and social activities. But building PR is hard work, and we don't have the time.
Quality links from quality articles (guest blogging ex.) and quality content + social activity will get you up there quickly. But 1 link from a PR 4-5 site won't help allot.
The best advice I can give is look through the quality blog posts on seomoz about link building (and check out the whiteboard friday as well) and you will be well on your way to the top

Internal links: How do I find keywords that are not linked to a URL?
Hi Moz members I'd really like to place an internal link of every instance of an important keyword phrase "cycling caps" or "cycling cap" to my eComm category page
Link Building | | andystorey
https://www.prendas.co.uk/collections/headwear/cotton-caps I feel this would not only help my customers browsing my store, but I believe it will help from an SEO perspective. How can I search my site using Moz, Screaming Frog, Google etc to find every time cycling cap(s) is used but is not linked to the above URL? I can then apply the same for cycling jerseys, socks, etc Andy0 -
Disavow links from legit sites but have spammy link profiles?
I'm currently doing a backlink audit for our site with a LOT of backlinks. Some of the linking sites are legitimate business websites in our industry who have linked to us for a totally legitimate reason (we have good content!). However, these businesses themselves have a spammy backlink profile—that is, the only sites linking to that site are obvious link farm sites. Here is an illustration: spammyseolinks.com; payforseo.xyz; blackhat.ru ==all link to==> legitbusiness.com ==links to==> mysite.com Should I disavow this backlink? I guess it's not really giving me much SEO worth since it surely been branded a spammy junk domain, but then again, it's a real website that we've earned a link from because we're doing stuff the right way. Is it hurting or helping me?

Link building for a 'boring' eCommerce site
Hey all, I'm in need of some serious inspiration and I'm hoping one of you generous people can help. We're looking to do a spot of link building for an eCommerce site which I would describe (without putting it down too much) as 'boring'. This isn't our fault per se as the site sells printer cartridges and there's only a certain amount of excitement such a product can create. As a result natural linkbuilding is quite tricky, especially when it comes to creating links to anything other than our homepage. For the past couple of years we have focused on creating good content and indeed have a thriving database of hundreds of helpful articles and videos on the site. These are generating decent traffic (and rank #1 for many different help related search terms) but the problem with these articles is that they don’t convert in to sales at all well. I’m also conscious that it will ultimately end in us developing a link profile which would classify us as a printer repair resource rather than cartridge sales website. I have read numerous guides on Moz but they all tend to focus on products which are a little sexier than those that we sell. Getting someone to share and link to a truly unique product would be incredibly easy compared with asking someone to engage, share and link to the latest Epson cartridge. I started writing articles on some decent quality business blogs however the links given don’t look particularly natural and the link would always be to our homepage. We have the staff and the time but we built a whole host of rubbish links back before Penguin and I want to ensure that we are going to head in the right direction before embarking on something new. If you had a site which was really dull how would you devise a link building strategy that was relevant and, most importantly, natural? Thanks for your help. Chris

Link Value
My question is how valuable is getting a link from a PA 71 with roughly 20 links on it. I guess I am saying how many links from a PA of 30 would be a comparable indicator. I understand there is an almost exponential value of authority as they go higher, but I am looking for a good explanation from a technical aspect. Hypothetical Scenario Would a person be better off pursing 20 links from PA25 pages, or would you be better only getting 1 from the PA71 all things equal.

Internal linking anchor text with automated ASP.NET link building
Hi Everyone I really need some help here, the problem I have must be one that many have. I have a simple e-commerce style website so 1 product page can in fact get 40-50 internal links to it. These links come from a mixture of: 1. The parent category pages that the product sits on (Rugged PDA) and in turn the 10 filter pages of this category page (Rugged PDA, ordered by battery size). 2. Alternative product list on other product pages, So many products link to each other as alternatives. From Google analytics we can see that visitors like to browse product to product seeing 5 alternatives on each page with titles like "Smaller", "more rugged" etc. 3. Manufactuer pages, so we have a link to each product from each manufacturer home page where we talk lots about each manufacture we resell. We also have links from images used in the website. So its a nice usable website but we're finding that Google is still telling us in Webmaster tools that it thinks some links are dubious and we're trying to find out why. We only now have 190 external links to the website, most are internal and from the website or our blog on a subdomain. The problem we think is that we generate the category and products pages all dynamically so the anchor text is looking the same. Will this potentially create issues for us? Dave

Finding competitor's 301's
Is there a way to find out what domains a competitor has 301'd to their main site? I am wondering if a competitor has hidden back links using a 301'd site.

Do image links with no alt tags pass link value?
"... an image link with no alt tag is useless to search engines..." according to a Nov 2007 seomoz blog post. Is this still the case in 2011? I ask because I'm about to obtain a banner link on a high-traffic site (chiefly for the clickthrough value) but I notice the site uses neither "title" nor "alt" tags.
