Improved Search For Wordpress
-
I thought I saw a post at some point about how to improve Wordpress search results, but I can't seem to locate it. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
-
Thanks for your help and I will definitely check out Relevanssi, but I was thinking of a post I saw here on SEO Moz about how to replace WP search with Google search.
-
Hi Wayne
Also check out http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/relevanssi/ which is all about 'Relevanssi' which is a WordPress search replacement.
Regards
Simon

Hi Wayne,
Yoast had a post on this topic that might be of some use: http://yoast.com/wordpress-search/
If you didn't fancy trying those manual edits, you could try a plugin such as Relevanssi
Hope that helps.

Community Discussion - Voice Search: A Future to be Shaped
Voice search represents a new challenge for SEOs, certainly, but it may also outline some pretty cool opportunities. In Purna Virji's post about the subject, there's an interesting line of thought raised in the comments: voice search reacting to differences in accent and mispronunciations, and taking those things into account for optimization. Let's just take a minute and think about all the wild possibilities in a hypothetical world where voice search is more prevalent than text queries. Release your imagination from the confines of current reality. cue Twilight Zone music

We use SLI for our searches and are thinking of just going back to the searches on our platfrom Bigcommerce
Does anyone have any experience with the advantages of using a search product like SLI in comparison to the search available on Bigcommerce. We currently use SLI for the searches on our site but think over the years we have been using SLI that the searches on Bigcommerce have improved and we are thinking of switching back to using the Bigcommerce search. "&" in search for site:domain.com
Hi, a few days ago we talked to a seo agency. They told us something about the "site:" search, that we hadn't heard before.
SERP Trends | | Sandra_h
As they told us, a search for "site:domain.com/&" would give you the number of relevant pages that Google indexed for your domain. We tested this search with some domains. Lots of the results showed up to 25% less indexed pages, than the search for site:domain.com/ Has anyone heard of this before, or is it just a sales gimmick?0 -

Are Word .doc or .txt files indexed into Search Engines?
I have a new client that is using Word files on their site, downloadable press releases. They feel that reporters prefer downloading press releases as Word .doc's instead of .pdf's since they can open and edit the content. Do these files offer any SEO?
