Need a trained eye to help with a quick search to see if there’s a poison pill buried somewhere on my site! This is an e-commerce site that I’ve worked on and ran for 5 years which ranks from middle to top in just about all of the quality analytic scores when compared to top 10 competitors in Google, yet this site can hardly stay on the 3rd page let alone the 1st. Only weakness in metrics that I see is that I need more linking root domains and traffic. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Lowell

Hi Lowell.
My main concern is your on-page presentation. The site seems a bit spammy to me. I recognize this site represents a lot of work on your end so I will share specific opportunities for improvement.
I used the following page for analysis: http://www.shopforexhibits.com/displays/display-rentals
The "Tradeshows" sidebar item seems fine. It is located at the top, offers images and I can see it being helpful to users. The "Recent Blogs" sidebar block is lower on the page but may be helpful. The "Trade Show Definitions" and "Exhibit Systems" seem like two extra blocks of links stuffed on the page. The "Getting Started" block might be helpful, but at the bottom of the page it probably is not getting seen nor used. Try checking your Google Analytics to see if anyone is using these last three blocks. If not, I recommend you strongly consider removing them.
Your footer also contains a lot of links, most of which are duplicated elsewhere on the page and are likely not used. Once again, check your GA to confirm these links are not being used and if so, remove them. They are not helping your users nor manage your PR flow to the more important pages of your site. For example "Banner Stands" is offered as a link in the "Tradeshows" block which is fine. But then it is offered in another sidebar block and again in the footer which seems excessive.
Your page text is black but then your internal links in content are silver. Many people might have difficulty reading the text due to the contrast. Also I will point out internal links are great, but it seems way overused on your page. You have 4 extra links in content which link back to the same page which is being displayed. This offers no benefit to users. You are also linking to the same pages repeatedly in your content. The first time anchor text is helpful. It doesn't need to appear every time you repeat the phrase.
Your LinkedIn page url ends in a number instead of your company name. I suggest you use your named URL. For example my company URL is http://www.linkedin.com/company/vitopian. The same idea with your YouTube account.
Add trust badges to your site. Verisign, TRUSTe, BBB, etc would all be helpful.
The above items are a start in the right direction. The goal is to treat each and every page on your site as a world-class web page worthy of a top ranking in Google. Presently I see a lot of quality issues with your site which can be improved.
Good luck.

Your site has huge rankings, however, when I went to your website, and did a view source, on the home page. Looked at the first few keywords, and did a quick google search, on a few. I did not find the site right away.
For example, "Trade Show Booths" - Now where on the first page.
"trade show displays" same scenario. However, of course, "shop for exhibits", and I would hope your number 1, and your were.
Your home page, Title should incorporate, and say the company name, after the Trade Show Information, that may help the home page indexing.
Hope this helps friend.

#! (hashbang) check help needed
Does anybody have experience using hashbang? We tried to use it to solve indexation problem and I'm not fully sure do we use right solution now (developers did it with these FAQ and Guide to Ajax crawling as information source). One of our client has problem, that their e-shop categories, has solution where search engines aren't able to index all products. In this example a category, there is this "Näita kõiki (38)" that shows all category products for users but as I understand search engines aren't able to index it as /et#/activeTab=tab02 because of #. Now there is used #! (hashbang) and it is /et#!/activeTab=tab02. Is this correct solution? Also now example category URL is defferent for better indexation with:

/et#!/
../et And when tabs "TOP ja uued" and "Näita kõik" where activated/clicked then:
/et#/activeTab=tab01
/et#/activeTab=tab02 I tried to fetch it in Google Webmaster Tools but it seems it didn't work. I would appreciate it if anybody can check this solution?0 -
New site causes massive drop off in ranking, old site restored how long to recover?
Hello, We launched and updated version of our site, mainly design changes and some functionality. 3 days after the launch we vanished from the rankings, previous page one results were now out of the top 100. We have identified some of the issues with the new site and chose to restore the old well ranking site. My question is how long might it take for the ranking to come back, if at all? The drop happened on the third day and the site was restored on the third day. We are now on day 6. Using GWT with have used fetch as Google and resubmitted the site map. Any help would be gladly received. Thanks James

How to get a site out of Google's Sandbox
Hi I am working on a website that is ranking well in bing for the domain name / exact url search but appears no where in Google or Yahoo. I have done the site search in Google and it is indexed so I am presuming it is in the sandbox. The website was originally developed in India and I do not know whether it had some history of bad backlinks. The website itself is well optimised and I have checked all pages in Moz - getting a grade A. Webmaster Tools is not showing any manual actions - I was wondering what I could do next?

Our quilting site was hit by Panda/Penguin...should we start a second "traffic" site?
I built a website for my wife who is a quilter called LearnHowToMakeQuilts.com. However, it has been hit by Panda or Penguin (I’m not quite sure) and am scared to tell her to go ahead and keep building the site up. She really wants to post on her blog on Learnhowtomakequilts.com, but I’m afraid it will be in vain for Google’s search engine. Yahoo and Bing still rank well. I don’t want her to produce good content that will never rank well if the whole site is penalized in some way. I’ve overly optimized in linking strongly to the keywords “how to make a quilt” for our main keyword, mainly to the home page and I think that is one of the main reasons we are incurring some kind of penalty. First main question: From looking at the attached Google Analytics image, does anyone know if it was Panda or Penguin that we were “hit” by? And, what can be done about it? (We originally wanted to build a nice content website, but were lured in by a get rich quick personality to rather make a “squeeze page” for the Home page and force all your people through that page to get to the really good content. Thus, our avenge time on site per person is terrible and Pages per Visit is low at: 1.2. We really want to try to improve it some day. She has a local business website, Customcarequilts.com that did not get hit. Second question: Should we start a second site rather than invest the time in trying to repair the damage from my bad link building and article marketing? We do need to keep the site up and running because it has her online quilting course for beginner quilters to learn how to quilt their first quilt. We host the videos through Amazon S3 and were selling at least one course every other day. But now that the Google drop has hit, we are lucky to sell one quilting course per month. So, if we start a second site we can use that to build as a big content site that we can use to introduce people to learnhowtomakequilts.com that has Martha’s quilting course. So, should we go ahead and start a new fresh site rather than to repair the damage done by my bad over optimizing? (We’ve already picked out a great website name that would work really well with her personal facebook page.) Or, here’s a second option, which is to use her local business website: customcarequilts.com. She created it in 2003 and has had it ever since. It is only PR 1. Would this be an option? Anyway I’m looking for guidance on whether we should pursue repairing the damage and whether we should start a second fresh site or use an existing site to create new content (for getting new quilters to eventually purchase her course). Does Google crawl the pages which are generated via the site's search box queries?
For example, if I search for an 'x' item in a site's search box and if the site displays a list of results based on the query, would that page be crawled? I am asking this question because this would be a URL that is non existent on the site and hence am confused as to whether Google bots would be able to find it.

On-Site Optimization Tips for Job site?
I am working on a job site that only ranks well for the homepage with very low ranking internal pages. My job pages do not rank what so ever and are database driven and often times turn to 404 pages after the job has been filled. The job pages have to no content either. Anybody have any technical on-site recommendations for a job site I am working on especially regarding my internal pages? (Cross Country Allied.com) Any help would be much appreciated.
