Natural vs UnNatural Links: How to Understand It?
-
Today, I was reading one help article on Google webmaster tools help regarding Google friendly sites.
I found that, Natural links can give us more benefits compare to Unnatural links. So, I have search on Google regarding Natural vs Unnatural links and come to know about great video.
But, I am still confuse with exact understanding. I am trying to create external links on different websites. So, is it natural or not?
How can I justify value of external website before creating link over there.

Thanks for your insightful answer. Can you give me your Twitter handler so, I can follow you...

For judging site quality I find it helpful to look at domain level metrics such as mozRank, mozTrust and domain authority, and I also use Alexa to check traffic levels. I also physically look at sites to see if they seem professional/trustworthy/usable.

It's really great list to know about it. But, I have big question to define quality of website. I am searching too many questions on Google and found too many new website during my daily stuff. So, I am finding too many opportunity to create my links over there. But, I have hesitation to create links over there. Is there any specific method which may help us to define quality of external website?

I think you just have to try to get a feel for what is more or less natural then take a common sense approach. For example
- A link which you don't control looks more natural than a link you do control (such as a directory with a non-refundable review charge vs a directory which charges for inclusion)
- An editorial link from a blog which links to many sites looks more natural than an editorial link from a blog that only links to your site
- A moderate selection of comment links on relevant blogs looks more natural than a huge amount of comment links on random blogs
- A moderate selection of links from quality directories looks more natural than a huge amount of links from spammier directories
- A link from a relevant site looks more natural than a link from an irrelevant site
- A link given in an editorial context looks more natural than a link originating from a links page
- A link from a relevant professional organisation looks more natural than a link from a random club
- A link profile with a broad mixture of link types looks more natural than one heavily skewed towards one link type

Link Building - Affiliate Link Programs
I'm getting some conflicting information when researching this... I want to create the most organic link building strategy that not only gets high authority sites linking to a website, but relevant websites. I'm creating an affiliate link program where I link to partner and affiliate companies, who in turn link back to me. The question is where to put these links. I was initially thinking of putting them in the footer so they add credibility to every page, and in turn ask my affiliates to do the same thing. However; some sources say that Google no longer looks at links in the footer section. Is it true that Google doesn't count links in footer sections? And do you have any tips on creating this Affiliate Link Program?

Greetings! Actually, got an doubt on linking to external site. The thing, i have working for roof marketers site. They have covered roof products. Each of the products have a page along with major keyword. Actually, i do link from other pages[internally]. Meaning,if i see any main keywords in different page then will link that to corresponding page/product[internally].This is what i am doing to get page rank. Now, my doubt. Some of the pages are having link with main keywords which directs to the third party site those who are really producing the products. But, i remove the third party-link which has with main keywords. Since already the site/my client site having pages for that main keywords. But client really want that link. meaning the links which they have given to direct to third party[product producer] site. So what should i do at this case. Can i just past RAW link like [http://www.thirdpartysite.com] or what do i do. But my client wants that link to be in content area. Links from Real Estate Websites Link Page, Do or Don't?
It seems that real estate sites have at times been under heavier scrutiny from the search engines. But real estate agents get networking, which makes acquiring those links a little bit easier. Plus with localization of search, I think real estate sites may give off a good GEO scent. Should SEO's go for links from real estate websites? Does a reciprocal link devalue said links?

Link building
Hello all ! I would love some opinions about one Link Building technical aspect from SEOs, link builders ... How important is the number of outgoing links on the page you have the opportunity to place a link ? (from a scale of 1-10 / what about where dose this factor fits overall with your check list , as important to consider as far as link building) Would you place a link on a page with 200+ outgoing external links if the page is ok (not involved in selling links, all links are related with the subject, target page, anchor text etc) or you would go with a link on a 10-15 links per page but not that 'powerful' and not that related (not spammy but more general on the subject that can contain links to some other non related resources). Eg: Option 1: www.whatever-name.com/links.html the entire domain is about x. It has 250 links in that page (in the links.html) all links on the links.html pages are somehow related / resources with x. Your link can be placed with an anchor text related with x that will target a page on your site related with x. Domain page rank : 6 (as a general indicator), Page PR, the links.html one, PR: 2 Option 2: www.some-other-name.com/x-is-so-great the entire domain is NOT about x, just the page. It has 5..10 links in that page (external links more or less related with x - but not spammy) Your link can be placed with an anchor text related with x that will target a page on your site related with x. Domain page rank : 3 (as a general indicator), Page PR, the links.html one, PR: 1 What's your best option ? Thanks !
