Open Site explorer (last 1-3 updates) shows new and wierd results

Hi Moz'ers! I have a questions for you guys. Can you explain why the website "Netspiren" has a lower "domain Authority" than "Duft og Natur"? See screenshot. I know it's a tough question without a detailed analysis, but looking at OSE's data, does the mozrank, moztrust, C-block don't reflect the power of the Domain Authority. What's you take? BTW: "Netspiren" has always had more and better links, and also had a higher Domain Authority. Something about the Domain Authority changed since the past 1-3 OXE updates. Looking forward for your take on this! Have a good weekend!

Hi Frederik,
Domain Authority is highly correlated with both mozRank and mozTrust, and includes factors from both of these metrics into the final Domain Authority score. Most of the time, a site with both superior Domain MozRank and superior MozTrust will also have a higher Domain Authority, but not all the time.
In this instance, I think we are seeing an edge case where Linkscape was reporting funny numbers. In the time since you posted your original question, not only Linkscape has been updated but the way Domain Authority metrics has also been updated for the first time in a couple years. The old Linkscape calculations were accidently including certain types of binary and junk files. If Duft og Natur had a large number of these types of files included in the Index, it could have certainly thrown the numbers off.
The end result is more accuracy today.
In fact, looks like Netspiren now scores a DA of 45, whereas Duft og Natur scores a 40. Nice!

Hi Yannick,
Thanks for your response.
I agree that such links build Domain Authority.
But great links from CNN etc. should also increase the moz-trust/rank... And Netspiren has a higher moz rank/trust. What I am wondering about, is the logic/correlation between: Mozrank/trust vs. Domain Authority. The screenshot shows that Netspiren.dk has more of any other metric, than the overall metric "domain Authority (And Total amount of links, which I don't take much into account). -
It's not only about sheer numbers. If you get a link from bbc.co.uk, theguardian, etc. etc. Those links are only from 2 root domains/C blocks, but will be very trustworthy/authoritive. So you have to look a bit further than just the numbers.
Followed links are of course giving more link juice than no-followed links (which give almost none or no link juice at all)

Unsolved Is the Keyword Explorer tool down?
Hi, I was supposed to work with researching keywords today. After researching a few queries in the Keyword Explorer, it stopped retrieving keywords and shows the message, “Getting keyword suggestions failed. Please retry your search or refresh this page”. The issue has persisted for a few hours. Thanks in advance.

Site Explorer shows links as followable but they have nofollow tags
Hello, I am looking at site explorer and sites linking to my site moneyfact.co.uk. I've got thousands of links showing as 'followable' but when i check them they have rel="nofollow" tags. e.g: http://www.dianomioffers.co.uk/partner/moneyfacts.co.uk/brochures.epl?partner=93&partner_id=93&partner_variant_id=33 Why would they show as followable when the links are nofollowed? Thanks Steve

OPen Site Explorer listing criteria?
Checking link data for a potential client who has given me access to their websmaster tools account, I've noticed that Google list over 150,000 "Links to Your Site" but yet OSE only reports a tiny fraction of this number.
Moz Pro | | G-DC
I have manually verified that there are in fact direct links from the sites that are listed in Webmaster Tools but not in OSE. Does OSE discard some links? Is there a reporting lag? Does anyone know why there would be such a large discrepancy?0 -

Linkscape Update July 7 or 11 or both?
The Linkscape Update Calendar lists two updates in July (7th and 11th). http://apiwiki.seomoz.org/w/page/25141119/Linkscape-Schedule For some internal calendaring, it would be helpful to know which date the update will roll. And as always, thank you very much for the great tools.

Backlinks using Open Site Explorer
Hey guys, So I was doing some backlink analysis for a client and was utilizing Open Site Explorer, which stated that I had roughly 2,111 External Followed Links. However, I can't seem to find a way to export all 2,111 backlinks. I wanted to make sure if the links I had acquired had been indexed and crawled, and picked up, but I can't seem to access the full list on a domain level, only on the subdomain level. Anybody have any suggestions or advice? Any would be helpful! Best, James
