Additional Pages in SERP
-
Hi Mozers,
Can anybody help me with this.
For "keyword phrase" SERP looks like this:
4. mysite.com/page2 ...
13. Mysite.com/page3
14. Mysite.com/page4
Is it possible to include Mysite.com/page3-4 both to the top 4th-5th, or better merge this pages and promote only one?
Thanks.

I never like to limit anything.
Before you merge or remove pages you should look at analytitcs to be sure that you know the TOTAL TRAFFIC for these pages and not simply the traffic for the targeted keyword. It is possible that these pages have enormous long tail traffic.
This is not a simple.. yes... no.... question. All of these pages have value in many ways.

keyword.com is totally unreachable at this stage.
I've proposed that google limit number of my urls on 1st page. Before mysite.com is not #1. Have you any thoughts about this?
Anyway now i am going to keep all #4 pages and use videos, Thank you for analysis.

It is difficult to give a good answer to this.
If you can move #13 and #14 up to position #10 they will merge with your other pages to occupy #3, #4, #5, and #6.
You wonder about merging the pages and promoting only one.... here is an analysis...
If KW.com defeats you by a slight margin you might gain by merging some of these pages if they are on the same topic, and each have unduplicating links from outside your domain.
In that situation you might instead simply promote the page at #3 with the hope of it moving to #1.
However, if KW.com has you beaten by an ENORMOUS margin then it would be best to optimize your title tags to steal their traffic. For example, you can shout your value propositions such as free shipping, kickass prices, free pdf instructions... or shout about other things that differentiates you such as videos, exciting content, free beer.

Which of these examples are doorway pages?
Hi there, I am soon to launch a new platform/directory website, however, have a concern over doorway pages. I have read many articles on the difference between Doorway and Landing pages and do have a good understanding, however, am still very anxious that what I intend to do will be risking Google penalties. I have looked at other directory/platform websites and have noticed that a lot of them are still using doorway pages and are not getting penalised. So I was wondering if someone wouldn't mind kindly letting me know their opinion on which of the following examples are doorway pages and which are not so I can better understand what I can and cannot do? Example 1: When I Google 'piano lessons new york' and 'trumpet lessons new york' I get the following 'landing pages' in search: https://takelessons.com/new-york/piano-lessons https://takelessons.com/new-york/trumpet-lessons To me, the above pages are definitely doorway pages as they are very similar with content and text and are simply an intermediary step between the Google search and their listings pages for piano/trumpet teachers in New York. Is this correct? Example 2: When I Google 'piano lessons Sydney' I get presented with the following web page in search: http://www.musicteacher.com.au/directory/sydney-nsw/lessons/piano/ I would think that this is NOT a doorway page as the user has been taken directly to the search results page in the directory and the page doesn't seem to have been set up for the sole purpose of listing in search results for 'Piano Lessons in Sydney'. Example 3: When I Google 'pet minding Sydney' I get presented with the following two pages in search: https://www.madpaws.com.au/petsitters/Sydney-New-South-Wales?type=night&service=1&from=0&to=99&city=Sydney&state=New-South-Wales https://www.pawshake.com.au/petsitters/Sydney%252C%2520New%2520South%2520Wales%252C%2520Australia Like Example 2, I don't think these pages would be classified as doorway pages as they too direct to the search results page in the site directory instead of an intermediary page. What do you think? Thanks so much in advance for your expertise and help! Kind Regards, Adrian

How many pages should be on landscapers website
Hi Guys, We have a good website strong onsite and offsite seo. A year ago, we had a 15 pages website for all main keywords we needed and we were on top 3 for most of these keywords in google. We were happy but we wanted more.. So we created lots of unique content targeting long tail keywords and created 100 more pages for the website. In next 4-5 months we lost positions for almost all our main keywords but got lots of longtails SERPs. Trafiic grew but the quality and the conversion rate shrinked. Everybody keep saying that it doesn't matter how many pages you have on the website as long as content is unique and I don't think it is true. I see lots of 3-5 paged websites without any seo in top 3 results in google. Does it mean that if I delete all these 100 pages that I created I will have more chances to get my main keywords SERP back? Basically does the seo juice that you have on domain is spreading across all pages and the more pages you have the less juice every page will get?

Should We Add the W3.org Language Tag To Every Page Or Just The Home Page?
Greetings, We have five international sites around the world, two of which are in difference languages. Currently we have the following line of html code on the home page of each of the sites: Clearly, we need to change the "en" portion for the sites that aren't in English, but, should we include that meta tag in each of the site's pages, or will the home page suffice. Thanks!

Quick wins for new page
Hi! I recently put this page live for a new client targeting the term 'hospitality IT' in the UK. http://www.antana.co.uk/hospitality-IT.html I've done a bit of guest blog writing and the page is currently #10. There are very links to the site overall, and only a handful to the page itself. Should I focus on building links to the root domain or the page, and is there any other quick changes I can make to give it a boost? Thanks!

To land page or not to land page
Hey all, I wish to increase my sites rankings on a variety of keywords within sub categories but I'm unsure where to be spending the time in SEO. Here's an example of the website page structure: General Home Page > Sub Category 1 Home Page
Intermediate & Advanced SEO | | DPSSeomonkey
> Searching / Results pages
- Sub Category 1
- Sub Category 2
- Sub Category 3
- Sub Category 4 > Sub Category 2 Home Page
> Searching / Results pages
- Sub Category 1
- Sub Category 2
- Sub Category 3
- Sub Category 4 We've newly introduced the Sub Category Home Pages and I was wondering if SEO is best performed on these pages or should landing pages be built, one for each of the 4 sub categories in each section. Those landing pages would have links to the "Searching / Results pages" for that sub category. Thanks!0 -
