How to promote an article
-
Hi i run a lifestyle magazine and we have articles that we need to promtoe straight away before they go out of date. I am looking at ways where i can promote an article to attract visitors to the site to read the article.
For example
We write articles and want to find a way where we can promote the articles where we could place a paragraph or two and then put at the bottom of that read the rest of the article here.
Can anyone please suggest how we can do this to attract traffic to our site and then hence this traffic would then keep coming back to the site to read more news and articles.

Might be worth putting your article on MyBlogGuest.com.
The quality of the websites on MyBlogGuest are pretty poor, but it still might be worth your time depending on how much time and money you invested into the article.

Try reddit.... if the articles are news and you qualify to be listed in Google news then do what is needed to get into their content suppliers list.

i understaood you,
buit the places that are going to let you do that, are not worth anything.
sure if you can get the NYT or the BBC or some high quality site to do this then good, but its unlikly.
You need to convince a quality site owner that is in their interest to do this, and i doubt of you can do that.

i think you misunderstood me. what i want to do is to post a paragraph of the article for people to see it and then press a button to my site to read the rest of the article.

I would say that 99.99% of article marketing is a waste of time. All the places to post such articles are worth nothing, Google have stated that they do not like article posting,
Unless you have a quailty site that is willing to do this for you, I would put them on your own site and hope they they get you a long tail search query or 2.
Not what you wanted hear i guess, but it the best advice i can give you.

ECommerce Configurable vs a lot of articles
Hey Moz Community! We have a eCommerce Store with a ton of articles/products. And we have a lot of Brands/Manufactures for Flavors with different tastes. As example we have a Brand Called "Copy cat" with 60 different flavors, and their product names are "copy cat xyz flavor". Currently we have for each flavor a single product created, so i guess we have a lot of duplicated keywords [copy cat] flavorname [flavor] + generell manufacturer content in the product descriptions. While thinking about it, i thought about to merge all those articles to configurable articles. So we have 1 Copy Cat article with some kind of a dropdown selection for the different flavor. Does anyone have experience with this? How will the User Experience change? (we are using elastic search, it's including the variations of products - so the search wouldnt be affected)

Use of Keywords throughout articles
Hi everyone, I have another (very basic) question! It's about the use of keywords throughout articles - is it worthwhile putting keywords and associated phrases in bold and italic and also underlining them at various points throughout my website articles? I have read that this helps google to know what the article is about. Any comments would be much appreciated!

Guest Posts/Blogs/Articles Link Building
Is it me or are the usual places you used to go for to find quality blogs to guest post to seem to be full of low quality spammy blogs. And doing a search brings up loads of poor quality sites/blogs too. I was thinking of creating a high quality content site for link bait. Any suggestions on "refreshing" a tired link strategy. Where do you find your guest blog/posts?

Promoting Great Content
Say I've just created some great content on my site, what does the forum think the best way of promoting this content via. social would be? e.g. Paid stumbles, tweets, posting on reddit? We've created some good content in the past, but never really been able to drive traffic to it through social sites and networking with a great deal of success.

Anybody use Twibbon to promote a website/cause/event?
I stumbled across Twibbon today - it's a service that basically creates an easy way for you to brand your Twitter/Facebook pictures, and to allow others to promote your cause as well. I'm not sure if I'm late to get on board here or if this is a relatively new thing, but it seems pretty cool. I can definitely see this really working out for promoting philanthropic causes. It would also work really well for events - imagine if every speaker at an SEO conference used Twibbon to brand their Twitter/Facebook? I think it would really help with branding, for both individuals and businesses.

Benefit of Historical PDF Press Articles for SEO
Hello Is there SEO benefit to keep PDF news articles from 2/3 years ago live on our website? We have a page displaying positive press/pr articles to our visitors. Some of the articles are now from 2009 and I am unsure if these should remain for SEO benefit or should they be taken down or archived? Are they good content? Are they read by Search Engines? If they are old do the count against us with Search Engines? Look forward to some advice Gary McDonald
