Page Linking Root Domains vs Root Domain Linking Root Domains
-
Hi all,
I am new on seomoz and I am not getting which is the difference between "Page Linking Root Domains" and "Root Domain Linking Root Domains". Could anyone please give me a clear explanation? An example would be excellent.
Thank you
Christine.

The link: command in Google is an inaccurate estimate (Google themselves have said so). The information in Google Webmaster Tools is closer to reality, but still incomplete.
Google and Open Site Explorer use different crawlers, so they will report different amounts of links.

Page Linking Root Domains are the number of unique domains that have a link pointed towards the particular page you're looking at on your site. For example, if you have a separate page for Contact Info on your site, this would only count links pointed directly at your Contact Info page and not any other page on your site.
Root Domain Linking Root Domains are the number of unique domains pointing to any page on your site. This will always be the higher number since it includes all pages, not just one.
Does this make sense?

GA Benchmarking: sum of sessions by channel vs total number provided
Hello. There is a huge difference in benchmark provided total amount of sessions and number of sessions if I add them up by channels:Screenshot If I manually add number of sessions by channel i get 187+114+59+69+231+121+168+225=1174 However, report says 227. That's MORE THAN 5 TIMES difference. Does anybody know what's happening? If not, are there other free tools, providing some benchmark reports? Thanks!

My client has shown me a similar site, though not a competitor. He wants to know what sites they are linked from that give them such a good Google rank for certain kewords. Can SEOMoz tell me this?
When using google.com.au and searching for "travel to france", www.frenchtravel.com.au is the 3rd organic result. (the 1st two are not travel businesses, they are non profit travel guides) My client, who runs www.visituk.com.au, an Australian site that organises tours of the UK, said "so we just need to add these sort of words to the site?" I said, yes, but it doesn't end there. The real task is to have a link to your site on other sites surrounded with the words "travel" and "UK". He asked if he could see a list of the sites the french site was being referred by relevant to the search phrase. Is there an SEOmoz tool for this? Or is there another way I can generate that list? Thanks Simon
