-
Hello when I do a Google search my sitemap.xml shows up for lots of queries.
Does anyone have any advise on this? Should I remove url in Google Webmaster?
Thanks,

Proper On-page optimization doesn't guarantee you that your keyword will appear in SERP. For this you need to increase your Page Authority by getting some good links.
Also according to your screenshot I see that you didn't use your keywords:
-
ALT IMAGE (which + 20% of on-page opt for particular keyword)
-
H1 (which + 30% of on-page opt for particular keyword)
-
And make it or at least 1 time.
-
-
Thanks for your help but are you sure that is the case? The page(s) in question already get a grade A in SEOmoz, there is room for SEO improvement but please see page grade attached.
-
Okay, the answer is pretty simple. If you sitemap appears in Google SERP it means that Google found it the most relevant to your search query "kyocera black and white printers".
What I would recommend you to do is:
-
First decide landing page is the most relevant to this query, have enough text and density of this keyword
-
Then apply some easy steps of SEO on-page optimization. If you are a SEOmoz Pro member then it will be easy to do for you just going to the Research Tools and section of On-page analysis. Just follow the steps there.
-
After that when you will be sure that on-page optimization done, go to Google webmasters and Fetch the URL for the particular optimized keyword and resubmit it to index.
-
The latest step try to get some good quality links on your landing page with this keyword.
And after all, just wait for Google update and if everything done correct then for this search query you will get new landing page. However it doesn't mean that the page with your sitemap disappear, it will stay somewhere below the new landing page in SERP. Because if Google thinks that this page relevant to your keywords, he can't just throw it away out of SERP.

My Website disappeared from Google Search Results overnight
Hello there, I'm the owner of the Website https://cours-toujours.com/, dedicated to reviewing running shoes. My Website is pretty young and I'm currently focused on building new reviews (so I keep adding new articles, week after week, I did not really focus on the rest of the website for now).Until a few days ago, I saw growing traffic on my Website, everything seemed good and I kept adding new reviews to my website. And then suddently traffic dropped and went to 0 in 2 days (I went from 550 impressions/day to 49 impressions/day in 2 days :/)When I look in the Google Search Console, I don't see any issue: my sitemaps are submitted and the correct number of URLs are reported I don't have any Manual Action or Security Issue I don't have any Removal Request Everything seems fine... But I can barely find my website in Google Search Results. When I do a site search (site:cours-toujours.com), I find only 2 pages of results, mostly non-important pages (categories, etc.).I asked in Google Community Forums, and i got this reply about my pages being too similar to one another (https://support.google.com/webmasters/thread/44880689?hl=en). But I'm not really happy with this answer, as all my pages have ~1000 words of unique content (even if of course they have the same structure as they are all dedicatd to reviewing a running shoe...)Any idea where this might come from/how I can fix the issue?

I need an XML sitemap expert for 5 minutes!
Hi all! I'm hoping that someone with a lot of experience with XML sitemaps can help me out here... When submitting my sitemap in Google Webmaster Tools, these are the results:

34,721 Indexed And there's also tonnes of warnings. Would anyone be able to take a quick look at these sitemaps to perhaps advise me on what's going wrong there? These do not load without the www, not sure if this is an issue? http://www.eumom.ie/sitemap.xml

Cached pages still showing on Google
We noticed our QA site showing up on Google so we blocked them in our robot.txt file. We still had an issue with them crawling it so we blocked the site from the public. Now Google is still showing a cached version from the first week in March. Do we just have to wait until they try to re-crawl the site to clear this out or is there a better way to try and get these pages removed from results?

Exclude Child URLs from XML Sitemap Generator (Wordpress)
Hi all, I was recommended the XML Sitemap Generator for Wordpress by the very helpful Keith Bloemendaal and John Pring - however I can't seem to exclude child URLs. There is a section Exclude items and a subsection Exclude posts. I have tried inputting the URLs for the pages I don't want in the sitemap, however that didn't work. So I read that you have to include a list of "IDs" - not sure where on earth to find that info, tried the page name and the post= number from the URL, however neither worked. I hope somebody can point me in the right direction - and apologies, I am a Wordpress novice, and I got no answers from the Wordpress forums so turned right back to SEOmoz! Cheers.

Why is Google stripping/replacing my TITLE tag for the site with the BRAND Name only when looking at BRAND level search
When doing a search in Google (US Proxy) - Google is stripping and replacing my functional TITLE with the brand name only (say 'Nike'), but if you do a specific search term like ('buy nike shoes') and see a top 10 listing for my site's homepage, now the title works and shows correctly. I saw this a few years ago with another one of my company domains, but didn't ask the question as it worked out. Thanks for any insight.. NOTE: It's not damaging any results, or rankings for the site.. but: when searching for BRAND name of the company, like I explained, it's replacing a optimized title for the BRAND name, and then re-placing it naturally when deep search brings up the homepage and the TITLE looks fine.. Very weird at best! Thanks, Rob

How to show ratings on Google?
One thing I have noticed recently is "review ratings" appearing in the Google search results. I have attached a screenshot which shows an example of this. I think this is a really good feature and helps make a listing stand out in the SERPs, I would certainly be more likely to click this one. My question is how do you code for it so that Google will display it? The URL of the page in question is http://www.footy-boots.com/inter-milan-away-shirt-2011-2012-9430/ 4nXyk

No Sub-Categories in XML Sitemap
I have a couple of sites using 3dcart, the ecommerce platform. Their tech support recently told me that they do not list sub-categories in the XML sitemap, only products and top-tier categories. Am I the only one that sees a problem with this? Thanks

Sitemap question
My sitemap includes www.example.com and www.example.com/index.html, they are both the same page, will this have any negative effects, or can I remove the www.example.com/index.html?
