Directories and duplicate content.

Part of our link building strategy for a dentist is to submit their site to several relevant directories. If I enter the same description in each directory, is it possible that Google will consider this duplicate content and prevent link juice from being passed back to the dentist's site?
Thanks folks,
Jason

Matt Cutts claimed that they do not count some links just last month (Pubcon). So, they can decide not to if the other site (not yours) is of too low of quality.

You are in the clear duplicate content will only be an issue when Google is indexing your site. I wouldn't worry with it when you are giving a description for a directory.

This doesn't fall into the duplicate content category. Especially if the description is honestly describing what your site is. All relevant and honest directories need a description of a site to accurately list them. Also, Google does not determine if juice will pass from one site to another, it's up to the site to tell Google that. They do this by adding rel="nofollow" to the page or link.
Straight from Google's Webmaster Tools help;
"Nofollow" provides a way for webmasters to tell search engines "Don't follow links on this page" or "Don't follow this specific link."
How does Google handle nofollowed links?
In general, we don't follow them. This means that Google does not transfer PageRank or anchor text across these links. Essentially, using
nofollow
causes us to drop the target links from our overall graph of the web. That pretty much says it there. Hope this helps!

Ugh content! I don't get it
Everyone on this website says the proper way to build links is with great content. I don't get that because I am trying to build links for a classified ads website and there is no "great content" for any of the classified ads websites. None of them have blogs or any content other than the stuff people are selling. When I look at my competitors inbound links using open site explorer, they are all junk. Most of the links listed in open site explorer are dead /broken links and the ones that are not dead links are spammy, low quality links including many link exchanges. So, I don't get the "great content to build links" route because in my vertical it's not being done. Suggestions on how to build links in this situation?

Links from Directory's
I have been looking at the Directory's recommended on the SEOMOZ site. All of those that I have looked into do not appear to have a page rank for the actual page that my link would be appearing on. They all appear to offer N/A as the reply. Is this a problem? Thanks in advance for any replies!

SeoMoz duplicate content
Hi all, There's a lot of controversy around duplicated content. If you google "The New SEO Process (Quit Being Kanye)" you'll get tones of results with a copied content from the original article. How does google manages this? (duplicated or not) Is this good for the original content/website? Thank you Cornel

Content and Relevant Links
Hello, My website started to offer guest blog posting and was wondering if it is a good idea to have an anchor text link to a not relevant website in the author bio. The content the guest blogger gave me is relevant to my website but in the author bio there are a couple of anchor text links that are linking to a completly different industry. Thanks in advance for your help.

Yahoo Directory Question
I'm working on building some links for a used car store and thinking about submitting a site to the Yahoo Directory. The page that I want to rank for this category is not the homepage of the site (as the store also sells new vehicles), so I'm curious if anyone knows if I can submit a specific page instead? If not, how does the idea sound of creating a separate domain that 301 redirects to my page of choice and submit that to the directory? EDIT: Found this in the Yahoo TOS: "The site may not appear in the Directory under a different URL." "The site must not be dedicated to directing the user to another page." Hm. Any ideas? Should I just submit the homepage?

Has anyone seen positive results from using Submiteaze to submit to directories? I know an SEM agency that uses it for clients' link building campaigns, but I don't know if it is worth buying. Are there better alternatives?
I would like to start a link building initiative at my company for a new website, and would like to know if the value of the links built using Submiteaze would be worth the money.
