Strengthening my personal coaching site
-
Hello,
My domain for my personal coaching site is my name
bobweikel(dot)com
and I think this is weak for all of my keywords, but I'm sticking with it.
What's some of the easiest way I could gain strength with national keywords so that people will pursue phone coaching with me, terms like
nlp coach
wealth and success coach
wealth coach
personal coach
life coach
I know that these are varying greatly in competitiveness.
Thanks!

Hi Bob
Some great advice from the guys already.
Don't be overly concerned about your domain name, exact match domains don't carry as much SEO weight as they used to. Is more important to have a clear, logical URL structure that compliments your content strategy.
As the others have said, focus on creating and distributing fantastic content, that's unique, fresh, topically relevant, interesting, Valuable content and distribute it via all appropriate methods, such as social, universities...
Becoming an Authoritive figure on your topics of speciality is key, try some guest blogging also and participate in relevant forums.
Regards
Simon

I didn't even check how competitive it was, but good point!

I agree with Ressler.... publish something that is so fantastically popular that it is tweeted, liked, blogged, emailed and talked about by everyone on the web.
I think that you will need to do this multiple times to rank at the top of google for some of your keywords.

Write the be all end all resource for each of those topics, citing your sources (as long as they have a high authority level). Don't try sell yourself within the article, just write it about the topic. Then, ask other people in your field to review your resource, and see if they would suggest making any changes. After you have made a couple alterations, ask them if they would link to your resource from their website.
Then, do some "inurl:".edu" life coaching" searches to see if there are any universities talking about the subject. Send an email to a professor in that department asking them to link to your resource.
Don't focus too much on exact keyword match, just get them to link to it.
These deep links will help with your overall domain authority, which puts you at an edge to rank overall.

EDU Links to my Site Never Show in Webmaster Tools

Is are Scoopon type sites a good place to get a link?
We have noticed that our competitors have links with equality from sites like this: http://www.groupon.com.au/ Scoopon type sites like this can be an effective way to generate sales for a business, I'm just wondering if these types of sites also have added value for SEO as sites like these do have a strong Domain Authority? Any thoughts on this subject would be most appreciated. Thanks!

Is a lot of inbound traffic coming from site a problem for SEO?
We have a site which is going to deliver content to a big news site and in return we will receive a lot of traffic from the news site. Estimates are that it will be about 50% of our daily traffic. Before this we have about 2000 daily visits, where 50% is from organic traffic. How will this affect our rankings? (It should be pretty obvious to Google that an increase like that in reffered traffic is bought - which I assume will ahve a negative impact on our organic rankings) What is the best tactic to use - regarding SEO - if (when) we proceed to deliver content/recieve traffic from that news site? (we have a lot of decent rankings on several branch keywords, and we don't want to risk those rankings. On the other hand - if we could improve our rankings from this deal - we would like inputs to that as well? Best regards, Chris

Site Published Our Guest Post but Removed the Link Back
I recently developed a nice article for a career site and they agreed to publish it as a guest post. Once they published the article I noticed they had removed the link back to my site in the byline. What is a best way to approach this situation? Would you ask them to take down the article if they are unwilling to link back to your site?

Getting site ready for outreach for guest posting
Hello, We've decided to focus on guest posting for my client's site. What do we need to do to my client's website to be ready for guest posting. I assume those providing guest posting opportunities will look at our site and evaluate how good it is and how good our writing is. Here's what we're doing, and I'm wondering what's important 1. We went from a junky design to a pretty good one. 2. The logo is still average - we're thinking of upgrading it 3. all of the buttons for the store are still bad looking - we're going to make them pretty 4. All the category text was keyword stuffed and not good, we're rewriting all category text which is a huge effort 5. There was 20 short OK articles. We're making 5 long good ones to take their places. What are they going to look at to make their decision?

Linking to a site in the US from a site in the UK - Good, bad or not important?
Would linking to a site in the US from the UK do harm or good if the site being linked to is industry related? i.e. a UK web design company linking to a US web design career site.

Link building and directory links to a new site
I have three new sites all hosted on the same server in the same public html folder and each site is in a different folder inside the public html folder. These sites are a listing of live music venues in different cities in Texas. Should I link these sites together to increase page rank to each other and also put key search phrases in the anchor text and place these links in the text in the center of each page of each site to make the links more effective? Also, because the sites are about a year old they don't have many inlinks yet. If i submit them to about 50 directories will Google not like this because there are way more directory links than natural links? I've been told that it is trouble to have more than about 50% directory links compared to natural links. Thanks in advance for your answers! Take care,
