SEO Ideas for B to B Website?
-
Hi,
I am running SEO for a medium-sized B-to-B website. We sell cloud-based software to other businesses/organizations.
Our site currently consists of static product-related pages that already have been highly optimized (correct tags, rich content etc) and a blog that we updated regularly.
For 2012, I've been tasked with coming up with ideas to significantly increase SEO. Assuming no budget constrains, what are some other general content ideas / other strategies to increase SEO for a B-to-B website?
Some of my current ideas include: starting a keyword-targeted YouTube video series and acquiring more links. What are other tactics that could work for a b-to-b site?
Thanks!

Here's a couple of thoughts...
Research the keywords for which you optimized your product pages. Discover what similar keyword phrases (longer tail) searchers are using, then develop content that contains those longer tail keyword phrases and is of interest to your potential clients.
Are you tracking the ranking of your B2B product pages? I'd recommend using SEOmoz research tools to track the ranking of these keywords, focusing on either your most important phrases or those you believe you can rank for most quickly, then link build for those terms, with good anchor text.

For any business-related site, infographics are a great way to drive traffic and get high quality links without having to create a ton of unique content. You could use the same marketing approach as you would promoting your YouTube videos. When we've set up B to B websites in the past, we've also had a lot of luck creating widgets that link back to our site (like a widget helping users compare wireless provider coverage in their area based on data from all major providers).
You can also look for link exchanges with other businesses. You might promote some of their products (as long as they're not direct competitors) in exchange for them marketing some of yours.
Don't forget about guest posting and comments (especially with commentluv enabled blogs). If you're building for a brand name, it's easy to get links back to your site naturally using the website's name.

Temporarily redirecting a small website to a specific url of another website
Hi, I would like to redirect a small website that contains info about a specific project temporarily to a specific url about this project on my main website. Reason for this is that the small website doesn't contain accurate info anymore. We will adapt the content in the next few weeks and then remove the redirect again. Should I set up a 301 or a 302? Thanks

Cookieless subdomains Vs SEO
We have one .com that has all our unique content and then 25 other ccltd sites that are translated versions of the .com for each country we operate in. They are not linked together but we have href lang'd it all together. We now want to serve up all static content of our global website (26 local country sites, .com, .co.uk, .se, etc) from one cookie-less subdomain. Benefit is speed improvement. The question is whether from an SEO perspective, can all static content come from static.domain.com or should we do one for each ccltd where it would come form static.domain.xx (where xx is localised to the domain in question)

Coupon websites as affiliates
We recently started using shareasale.com for affiliate marketing and have received literally hundreds of applications from coupon websites wanting to become affiliates. Most we have not approved as the quality of the sites is poor. However, a few sites seem more legitimate. Could having these types of sites harm our seo in any way?

If i use bing webmaster tools link explorer i see dozens and dozens spam links but if open a link i don't find this link in that website. Is it possible that someone added the links and then remove thouse links when we got hit? Or is it possible to hide the links that they don't show up on webpage but they are still there? How can i use Google disavow links tool if there is no links in thouse websites but Bing link explorer shows spam domains pointing to our website. BR, T

Where Does Blogging Fit Into SEO
I read an article yesterday that said blogging comes under the heading of social media, which is at the top of the so called SEO pyramid. I have taken this to mean less time should be spent in social media compared to other areas of SEO. Yet content creation was at the bottom of the pyramid (more time allocation here). Isn't blogging part of content creation? I would have thought there is a limit to what can be done for service/product & landing pages. Whereas blogs are a great way to produce more unique content for a website. Any clarification would be appreciated. Thanks - Christina

SEO Strategy for Microsite
I am working on a project to build a microsite of sorts that will represent a joint program between two large organizations with established web presences and strong domains. Each of the organizations has dedicated sections on their sites speaking to the program, but the leadership has decided the joint program deserves it's own site with dedicated content. The two larger sites perform very well for SEO, and I don't necessarily want to jeopordize thir rankings by delivering content that competes directly with them. So I am doing some keyword research to find some opportunities that will alllow me to use the new site to target keywords not yet being captialized by the larger sites. My grand scheme is to have the three sites targeting the broadest array of keywords possible, thus maximizing exposure and avoiding competition. Here is the rub: the content between the three sites will be different but very similar, and there will be plenty of cross linking, especially from the existing sites to the new site, as we grow the brand of the joint program. I'm curious to here some expert opinions on what the puitfalls of the strategy are and what are some of the things I can do to avoid falling in the black hat category - I recognize that proliferating sites around a single topic and cross linking them is black hat. The organizations simply want to build a brand around a joint program and we are striggling to do that without a dedicated website.

The format for image SEO
Hi there. After looking at a few SEO videos relating to image SEO it seems important to ensure images are SEO'd just as well as pages. I however have a question. If the page is Meta titles the following: Online for Equine | Riding Clothing | Just Togs Latina Ladies Breech And this particular page contains five images which are each variants of this product, how is it best to SEO them? Would you go with the: Online for Equine | Riding Clothing | Just Togs Latina Ladies Breech Front Online for Equine | Riding Clothing | Just Togs Latina Ladies Breech Back Online for Equine | Riding Clothing | Just Togs Latina Ladies Breech Side and so on... Or would this result in keyword stuffing with Google's new over-optimisation rules. Would it be better to rename them so they are all individual? I am considering deleting the images, renaming them on the server as the SEO proof name and then re-uploading them so the Image caption = filename. Am I on the right track?
