Competitive Domain Analysis & Subdomain Metrics
-
I have a web site that shows with all zeroes in the Competitive Domain Analysis and subdomain Metrics screen. I don't think this is possible because I have a ton of links out there to this web site from a forum that I visit. Can someone help me understand how this might be. I am hoping it's not some dreaded www vs non www issue because I think I solved that issue for this site. The site is www.nationalcurrencyvalues.com

Interestingly Majestic SEO Site Explorer shows no data from it's historic index, but shows 2 referring domains, 85 Backlinks from it's "fresh" index.
Keep building the links!

Both interesting and informative replies... I guess my confusion comes from the fact that my antiquebanknotes.com and NationalCurrencyValues.com domains were both started at the same time and the primary source for tons of inbound links is a signature line I use in a forum. It just seems odd that nationalCurrencyValues shows 0 across the board but It makes sense given the OSE says no data available.
The site does show up for some relevent good searches though so it seems that the DA opinion a little harsh.
I guess I better find some links so that I can evaluate the site better.
Thanks to both replies!

It appears you have the www and non www taken care of. But, there is no DA or PA for this site. I did not that with the exception of the landing page most of the tabs redirect to another url. That url, antiquebanknotes.com has a DA of 10 and the first page has a PA of 20. There is only one linking root domain showing in OSE. (Note that OSE will not show every link but about the top one fourth. So if you have a lot of low value links, they won't show)
I don't know how you did the redirect, but if you believe you have a lot more authority than that for the url you asked about, that would be a place to start. Also, if the site is new, you won't have accumulated any authority yet. You will need to add some links, etc.
You can look in GWMT and see what links they are showing.

HI Greg,
Your site isn't in the Linkscape index that the SEOmoz tools use, as a result there's no data for the tools to work with. If you look-up your site on Open Site Explorer you get the error "No Data Available for this URL"
If you've only got a small number of sites linking to your site you're going to limit the chances that your site will be found and included.
You mention you have a ton of links from a forum you visit. A bunch of links from just one domain (especially forum posts) isn't going to make your site that visible out there on the net.
I would look at ways to promote your site more broadly. Can you get links from a number of other, preferably high authority sites?
A good place to start is looking at who's linking to sites similar to yours. Look up your competitors sites in Open Site Explorer and see where they are getting links from. Maybe you can get links from those sources too.
Hope this helps.

Multisite domain
good morning I have a wordpress site I have activated the multisite, currently the site has a domain authority of 8, when I publish a post, it is indexed quite quickly, if I publish a post in a language other than the /es subdomain it takes 24 hours why? If the author domain is the same, why does the employee take longer to be indexed on Google? Thank you

Do subdomains negatively impact SEO
If we want to eliminate one of our domains and consolidate it with our main domain by the subdomain approach, would that negatively impact our SEO? Example: change www.xyz.org to www.xyz.abcd.org, Thanks, in advance, for your feedback.

Exact keyword in domain - does it work
Hi, a hypothetical question: let's say there is a fresh domain travelnorway.com (of course there is already domain like that, I am using it just as a example) Will it rank first on googe for "travel norway" query on google?( I mean in situation where 30 other companies are trying to rank for the same phrase) Thanks!

Different Domains on Same IP
Hello I'm just wondering how much of a difference it makes having links to a site from 2 separate domains that are on the same IP, compared to if the domains were on separate IPs? Thank you! Sam

Redirect Multiple Domains
This is a follow-up question from one posted earlier this month. I can't linked to that because it's a private question so I'm trying to summarize it below. We have a number of domains – about 20 - (e.g. www.propertysharp.com) that point to our main domain ip adress (www.propertyshark.com) and share the same content. This is no black-hat strategy whatsoever, the domains were acquired several years ago in order to help people who mistyped the websites url to reach their desired destination. The question was whether to redirect them to our main domain or not. Pros were the reportedly millions of incoming links from these domains - cons was the fact that lots of issues regarding duplicate content could arise and we actually saw lots of some pages from these domains ranking in the search engines. We were recommended to redirect them, but to take it gradually. I have a simple question - what does gradually mean - one domain per week, per month?
