How to improve my google backlinks
-
Hi i have just checked my google back links for my site www.in2town.co.uk and it has said that i have only five, not sure where these are from as the tool i was using did not tell me. But i have looked at my compeditors and they have a few hundred and some have thousands so i am just wondering what i need to do to compete and get more backlinks.
I have been writing articles for other sites, free article sites hoping to get some traffic as well as backlinks, for this has not worked out.
i just done a report now and i have got the following information
DMOZ Directory ? NoYahoo Directory ? NoDigg 0 Yahoo Indexed Pages ? 0
Bing Indexed Pages 0
I would really like to know what steps i need to take as i feel that i have done a lot of good work but my back links are not improving. any help would be great

hi james. I use digg a lot and cannot understand why after using digg for a few years now that no links are showing in the report.
I also do press releases but i think i need to look at better press release sites
-
Diane, don't forget Google only shows you a sample of the links pointing to your site. This is why many people were so upset with the closure of Yahoo Site Explorer.
I would suggest looking at Opensite Explorer (OSE) or Majestic to understand your true link profile, then follow James's advice.
The most important thing to take out of this is doing link building consistently and with phrase match keywords.
Hope this helps,
Vahe

Hi Diane
Link building is a long process, you are in a very good place to learn how to start your link building. Check out The professional guide to link building. You can use OSE to check your existing backlinks.Be aware that It takes some time before your links will show up. Keep in mind that some of your competitors started their link building years ago. You just need to be persistent and focus on building quality links, as not all links are equal.

Google indexing is slowing down?
I have up to 20 million unique pages, and so far I've only submitted about 30k of them on my sitemap. We had a few load related errors during googles initial visits, and it thought some were duplicates, but we fixed all that. We haven't gotten a crawl related error for 2 weeks now. Google appears to be indexing fewer and fewer urls every time it visits. Any ideas why? I am not sure how to get all our pages indexed if its going to operate like this... love some help thanks! www.website3.com/ There are individual adwords accounts for each property that I'm trying to link up. Here's the issue I"m having. I can link up Website1.com Analytics to Website1.com Adwords. Then I'll link up Website2.com Analyitics to Website2.com Adwords. This will cause Website1.com to be linked up to Website2.com's Adwords. How do I fix this?0 -
Ranking not improving
Our site is now 3 months old (although the domain is older) but rankings don't seem to be improving at all. We've got some good quality relevant links coming into the site, and the content is unique and often updated. Is there something holding the site back? Am I being impatient? the site is www.help-my-mobility.org Thanks.

Website is not indexed in Google
Hi Guys, I have a problem with a website from a customer. His website is not indexed in Google (except for the homepage). I could not find anything that can possibly be the cause. I already checked the robots.txt, sitemap, and plugins on the website. In the HTML code i also couldn't find anything which makes indexing harder than usual. This is the website i am talking about: http://www.xxxx.nl/ (Dutch) The only thing that i am guessing now is the Google sandbox, but even that is quite unlikely. I hope you guys discover something i could not find! Thanks in advance 🙂

Google Alerts News Images
I have a Google Alert setup which is pulling information from a blog. I am receiving images as part of the alert. The issue that I am having is that the images have nothing to do with the blog post. Is there a way to control what images are received in the alert. From what I have gathered, if it grabs an image it should be part of the blog post.
