Where did the local pin symbol go?
-
Last week I was checking local Google places rankings with the ranking tool. The symbol was there for say 65% of my 260 keywords, and the lines were above the symbol indicating i was listed in the local area places results for say 65% of keywords with symbol.
This week there is no symbol one way or the other. I have opened a ticket but am not communicating well with Kenny.
He says I need to work on my seo and to talk to seo specialists as he is not one of them. I can understand slipping in the rankings (all to well). But where did the symbol go? It is suppose to be there whether I rank or not.
Please help

I am not super concerned with rankings, but the pin that usually shows up for local terms has stopped showing up for all 260 keyword phrases.
I read literature and watched SEOmoz Webinars, and I know that the local pin shows for local search terms, whether you rank or not!
If you rank, lines appear above the local pin.
The local pin has completely disappeared???

Hey Michael! Sorry that Kenny wasn't able to communicate well with you; was there a misunderstanding or can you go over the issue in more detail? The Help Team can't help with SEO questions, but the Q&A definitely can!
It sounds like you're trying to find out why you're not ranking in the local vertical like you used to be - is that correct? Or are the PRO tools not properly representing your rankings? If you can give us or Kenny examples of keywords that are one way in Google, but another way in the Web App, we can certainly check it out. From what I can tell, Kenny already verified a lot of the rankings, but perhaps he missed something. The more examples you can give, the better.
If this is more of a question of why you're not ranking for the local verticals, hopefully someone here in Q&A can get you an SEO-based answer. Thanks for your understanding!

How to Combine the Moz Keyword Difficulty Tool with Google Keyword Planner for LOCAL (city/town) Results
Hi there, I wish that Moz would show local (city/town) results in their Keyword Difficulty Tool. But they don't, so here's my question: I'm trying to rank for keywords "interior design" in a local geographic area in the US. When using Google KWP, I'm selecting all the towns I want to rank in, and searching against the keywords INTERIOR DESIGN. The search volume appears to be approx. 370 a month. What I'm not sure about is whether I should instead (or in addition to), be searching for INTERIOR DESIGN (CITY), and leaving the geographic selection as US. What is most accurate? OR...should I search for INTERIOR DESIGN (CITY) in Moz's Keyword tool? How do you guys do it?

Software for checking local listings?
Is there any software that you can enter in the name of a company, phone number, address, or website URL and get back a list of all the local search terms they are on the first page for?

Local SEO Rankings Report Tools (based on several locations)?
Hi, Just a quick question. I am looking for a Rankings Report tool that allows a user to not only provide a list of Keywords, but also a list of Locations for which to check Google UK's ranking results. In practice, I would like to be able to enter 6 names of Towns next to my keyword list and get "localised results". Many thanks in advance, Cheers Greg

Local Rankings Drop?
G'morning! I got a disturbing report this morning that showed seven of our big keywords drop from high on the first page to not in the top 50. After further research I have found that we are now in Google's local cluster, but no longer on the traditional organic results. My question is this, has Google changed something that doesn't allow results in the local cluster AND in the traditional organic listings? I'm assuming that this is the case because we're doing smart SEO and have built these rankings up nicely over time, but then just fell off the face of the earth. I have attached a snapshot of Moz's Ranking History for a few of the keywords, as I assume this will help explain the story. (We're in green). Any insight would be much appreciated. Thanks! euxQb kwAqh pUxkC

How do we use SEOmoz to track Local Searches? Is there a way to set the location from which the campaign tracker is "searching"?
It seems that there is no way to set a parameter for location. In Places, I'm able to define my targeted region. How does SEOmoz mimic that localization? Thank for any help! -- Chris

Tracking Local Keywords in Campaigns.
When selecting keywords to track in campaign mode, how should I enter the keywords for a company located in a city that shares the same name as another city in a different state? My assumption is that if you're searching for "Garden City Plumber" within Garden City Michigan that Google will know your IP and show local results (as opposed to results from Garden City California). If I want to track the key phrase "Garden City Plumber" in campaign mode how will SEOMoz know which city to deliver results for? Thanks in advance.

Keyword Difficulty Tool on local results. Is this really working?
I've tried the Keyword Difficulty Tool on "consultant seo" in Romania (that is .ro) The tool says that it's Highly Competitive (59%), but I've got my website on #8 in 2 weeks. Question: Is this tool really working for local results? It seems way off... Actually I was kind of expecting for this keyword to be easy, what is confusing is the "59%" from the Keyword Difficulty results. Thanks for the answers!
