What are some good ways to define yourself as a store to Goolge?
-
Google has the results that appear at the top of the search results when searching for a product that shows stores. I was trying to figure out some good ways to get yourself noticed as a store to Google. I have attached an image of what I am talking about
What do you guys think?
Thanks!

There are many things one can do to help Google recognize your business as a store. First, if your business has a centralized location, be sure to create an optimized listing for your company at Google Places for Business. As well, be sure to use selling related terms when optimizing your pages for keywords, e.g. instead of simply listing “hard drives”, use “hard drive retailer” or “hard drives for sale” along with your company name. Ensure your URL and landing page reflect your business wares as well by having a short, clear URL and using reflective keywords within the first 100 words of text on your site.
It will always be a struggle to compete in Google against major corporate retailers, but by following these steps, you should begin to see a change in your results.

Trying to get yourself noticed as a store to google is probably too ambitious for most online stores. I imagine it would take years of proper SEO to get recognized. Ranking high on large volume keyword SERPs like "hard drive" would probably be a step in the right direction.

Is there a way to get Google to index more of your pages for SEO ranking?
We have a 100 page website, but Google is only indexing a handful of pages for organic rankings. Is there a way to submit to have more pages considered? I have optimized meta data and get good Moz "on-page graders" or the pages & terms that I am trying to connect....but Google doesn't seem to pick them up for ranking. Any insight would be appreciated!

Best way to handle pages with iframes that I don't want indexed? Noindex in the header?
I am doing a bit of SEO work for a friend, and the situation is the following: The site is a place to discuss articles on the web. When clicking on a link that has been posted, it sends the user to a URL on the main site that is URL.com/article/view. This page has a large iframe that contains the article itself, and a small bar at the top containing the article with various links to get back to the original site. I'd like to make sure that the comment pages (URL.com/article) are indexed instead of all of the URL.com/article/view pages, which won't really do much for SEO. However, all of these pages are indexed. What would be the best approach to make sure the iframe pages aren't indexed? My intuition is to just have a "noindex" in the header of those pages, and just make sure that the conversation pages themselves are properly linked throughout the site, so that they get indexed properly. Does this seem right? Thanks for the help...

Paid directory links--good or bad thing to do for Prof. Services sites?
Yes, I am pretty darn new to SEO and have heard that Google doesn't like Paid directory links. I have looked at some of my competition and they must have paid to get in certain directories as I don't see any backlinks posted on their home pages (usually a badge or icon must be placed on the homepage to avoid a fee.)

Purchased biz with good URL, not sure what to do with it...
First, thanks in advance for any help I can get with this one. My company leads guided hiking tours in national parks all over the West. We purchased a company with a fantastic URL that focuses on our our top revenue-producing park, and they've been in business for more than 14 years, and have had that URL the whole time. Their site is horribly designed and optimized, but they do well anyways. We are absorbing his business into ours for other reasons, but keeping the name as a DBA. I was originally planning on redesigning and optimizing the site, so we'd have 2 websites out there directing people to us. But I'm beginning to learn that's maybe not smart, even if the content is original. So should I 1. continue with a redesign of his site and have 2 sites out there. If so, what's the minimum % of duplicate content I should shoot for? 2. do a 301 redirect to my main website - would that even help or would it nullify the benefits completely? Again, thanks for any input!

Good links pratice for listing pages?
Hello, I'm wondering which is the best way to handle this kindle of page... You can have a look at my screen capture, or see directly my page here. I've in my case, for the same "ski resort", 3 differents anchor link type (title, image and more info…), all of them are going on the same page. I know it's not that good, my idea, it to keep only the more info like, but with a better anchor link, something like : more information about this ski resort... Thanks in advance 🙂 Best regards links.jpg
