good... or or do you prefer...<title>Patio designs - Water features - Brick patio - Greenville, Spartanburg, Simpsonville</title>
Thanks for your help,

Oh cool. I heard about that, before my time though. Thanks again!

You guys had a lot of Roger love for our Draw Roger contest a while back at http://www.pinterest.com/mozhq/draw-roger-contest-entries/, so I think that's when we got some swag from you too.
I don't watch cable, so thanks for pointing out the video. Great fun!

Thanks Keri for the tip - just asked again.
Great to hear our sweatshirts are keeping someone warm - 'tis the season. We don't send it out to just anyone you know. Must be one of our real fans
ICUMI - http://youtu.be/vfPgwQU6H8o you'll both get a good laugh! Take care!

Hi Gebby,
My husband is still keeping nice and warm in his Kars4Kids sweatshirt you guys sent over a couple of years ago! This is an old thread, and it's probably best to start a new thread for more visibility. Really do appreciate you searching through the archives first though!

Hi. I know a lot has changed since this response. However, generally wanted to know if targeting locally however kws in local area do not include the town names, does it still help to keep the town names in the title tag? does google deliver local results based on location names in title tag if query didnt mention it?
-
This is wonderful to hear, thanks so much for sharing with us. I've forwarded that on to some of the team, as it's great to hear when we've helped to make an impact like this.

My success has been phoenomenal. Out of 86 keywords tracked we are on first page with 76, 65 in top 3 and 22 are #1. This has directly contributed to our doubling of our sales volume. Making Greenville and Spartanburg in the title tags of different pages on my site... I am positive has helped. For a small business our non paid keyword search is great, about 900 new hits a month. I love SEOMoz, and I appreciate the answers I have gotten from my questions. See http://www.bluedotlandscaping.com yourself. Not great on a national level big time type site, but for a local contractor we are heads and tails above our competition.

Hi Rich!
I'm following up on older questions that are still marked unanswered. I see you chose something similar to the second tag right now. Did you try other variations? Do you have anything of interest that you can share with us regarding your results and how changes did or didn't help your rankings/traffic/conversion?

If locations are important it is probably better to have them at the beginning of title tag. The company name can be at the end of the title tag too. At the same time company name is in your URL anyway. Of course it is up to you to decide.

Something that can help from seomoz:

Rich,
If you care mainly about "Greenvile" and "Spartanburg" you should find a way to start the title tag with those.
It's very important to have the main keyword / keywords in the beginning of the title tag - but avoid a spamy look.
If you can find a way to start the title tag with the keyword keywords that you really care and the title tag is looking good from a human point of view then that is a perfect recipe in my book.
It' s the way I do things related with title tags - my opinion only.
So a much better title tag will be something like:

Magento 2.1 Multi Store / SEO
This is quite technical but I'm hoping a Magento expert can clear this up for me. Currently my company has two websites on separate Opencart platforms. What I'm doing now is building a Magento website and using the multi store function as well as a few modules to combine the two sites, the aim being that the link juice is shared and I can focus my SEO efforts on the one site instead of two, thus reducing my workload while maintaining the benefits. This is the intended layout: www.domain.com www.domain.com/us I have created a sub-folder (not a subdomain) as this seems to be the best way to share link juice between the new, combined sites (as well as 301s from the old, redundant site). At the moment I have created 2 separate websites, stores and store views (see attached) and have configured it according to the Magento guide, so I know that technically this is correct but I need to make sure that I have done it correctly in relation to SEO. Is the sub-folder set up correctly for instance? Currently the only files to populate that sub-folder are a htaccess, error log and index.php (see attached). Also, is there anything I could be missing in relation to SEO within the parameters of what I am trying to achieve? Additionally, only one store view appears in the "change store view" section of the home page. This is causing me to question if I have set it up correctly, because I had assumed both store views would appear even if they were under different websites (attached). OR do I simply use the same website and create two stores and store views? Do I also need to create a separate database for each website/store/store view? I would very much appreciate if someone could help out here. Thank you. In1Gi7t pyfM03y nUQoMz1

WordPress Category page title h1 or h2
Hi friends, I know this is a minor technical change, but we are in an extremely competitive market and I don't want to have any points against us. On our WordPress Category pages i.e. http://www.domain.com/category/tegory-title%/ I looked at the code behind the the Title of the category page, which is "Browsing: %Category Title%" The code is an h2. I look at the posts in the category archive below, and those are also h2's. The theme preview is here and you can click on Entertainment - Reviews to see exactly what I'm referring to - http://themeforest.net/item/smartmag-responsive-retina-wordpress-magazine/full_screen_preview/6652608 I changed the code for the "Browsing: %Category Title%" to h1, which I believe is more consistent and standard formatting. 1. Is this a correct technical on-page optimization? 2. Would it be beneficial to remove "Browsing"?

How to add SEO Content to this site
Hi Great community and hope you guys can help! I have just started on a SEO project for http://bit.ly/clientsite , the clients required initial KPI is Search Engine Rankings at a fairly low budget. The term I use for the site is a "blurb site", the content is thin and the initial strategy I want to employ to get the keyword rankings is to utilize content. The plan is to: add targeted, quality (user experience & useful) and SEO content on the page itself by adding a "read more" link/button to the "blurb" on the right of the page (see pink text in image) when someone clicks on the "read more", a box of content will slide out styled much the same as the blurb itself and appear next to and/or overlay over the blurb and most of the page (see pink rectangle in image) Question: Is this layer of targeted , quality (user experience & useful) and SEO content (which requires an extra click to get to it) going to get the same SEO power/value as if it were displayed traditionally on the initial display? If not, would it be better to create a second page (2nd layer) and have the read more link to that and then rel-canonical the blurb to that 2nd page, so that all the SEO passes to this expanded content and the second page/layer is what will show up in the rankings? Thanks in advance qvDgZNE

Wordpress Blog Providing SEO to Main Site
Hi, I recently started a very much "learn on the job" SEO position, transitioning from a copywriting background. We currently have a wordpress blog up and running (and producing some decent quality content too I hope!) at example.com/blog/ and a sign up page located at example.com (sorry, can't put the address right now) for a site that is being custom built as it's got some nifty software linking to back end systems. My question is whether the content on the blog will bring SEO benefits to the main domain or whether it'll just be for the blog itself? If the latter, should we navigate the blog onto the a separate page of the main site? Thanks so much! I'm learning as much as I can as quickly as I can, but somethings still get me in a little bit of a tizzy.

Home page redirect - will this cause an SEO problem
Hello, We are using Wordpress to build a wiki site. The wiki plugin we're using (Wordpress Wiki lite) can only be set up on an internal page like nlpwiki(dot)org/wiki Can we redirect the home page to the /wiki subdirectory and use nlpwiki(dot)org/wiki as our home page? I've never done that, just wondering if it will be indexed as the home page or if there are any connonical issues. Thanks!

What is the best SEO friendly CMS platform?
Would like to build some content sites and would appreciate some guidance on what you believe to be the most SEO friendly CMS platform. I'm also hoping to find something that doesn't require much HTML and is pretty easy to jump into.
