Lazy loading images effect image seo?
-
Im using a wordpress plugin to lazy load images so that the site speed is a lot faster. Will this mess up image seo? The code for the image looks like this (with the site taken out)
[
<noscript></p> <p> </p> <p>I see it has the 1x1.gif it loads to speed up page speed but does the fact the link is to the correct place make it ok?</p> <p>Thanks for letting me know</p></noscript>](http://.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/IMG_9477.jpg)

Thanks for the prompt reply.
My images are already optimized but 200 7kb images take longer to load than 1 1.5mb image. The fact that it loads the same gray pixel gif for 190 images saves lots of time.
I played with the JQuery lazy load and got the page speed up from 50 mobile & 64 desktop to first load (there is also caching) all the way up to 69 mobile and 84 desktop (google speed test).
Even with the caching there is about 10 points difference. (approx 75 and 90).
There is also a difference in the user experience even though it is mostly felt in first time mobile users...

When I wrote the post above I hosted my sites on premises and used cdn for images. But cloud hosting has got so cheap I just host the lot on the cloud. With band width these days I really don't worry about images any more, I optimize them, and host them in the cloud, plus the fact that most people have a good download speed these days, I don't see it as a problem.
Also as a user experience it is more important that the page starts loading soon, when it completes is less important.
I would look into Microsoft Azure they host all sorts of sites, windows and Linux and are cheap.

Dear Alan,
I have an eCommerce website with pages that are filled with images -
on some 100-200 small images (6-10KB)I have used similar lazy load solution using scripts in order to provide better experience and faster load speed but the downside of problematic src attribute (meaningless) is obvious.
As far as I understand (and please correct me), with CDN, some of the material (like images) is saved in servers all through the globe and therefore get to the client faster.
Does it mean that I need to change my hosting or is it some sort of addon?
Does it have any sort of negative effect on SEO?Thanks

Don't sound good, images may take a time to load, but your html loads first, so-just let them load.
Or use a cdn, i use Microsoft Azure Cloud for cdn, cost me about $2 a month

SEO Menu Question
I have a question regarding to the SEO benefits of different types of menus. Recently, I have noticed an increasing number of websites with the sort of menu like at www.sportsdirect.com, where there is only one main dropdown and then everything is a sub-menu of the sub-menus if that makes sense. Is this approach more, less or equal beneficial to what you see at http://www.wiggle.co.uk/ where there are multiple initial dropdown menus? Appreciate the feedback.

Google + pages and SEO results...
Hi, Can anyone give me insight into how people are getting away with naming their business by the SEO search term, creating a BS Google + page, then having that page rank high in the search results. I am speaking specifically about the results you get when you Google: "Los Angeles DUI Lawyer". As you can see from my attached screenshot (I'm doing the search in Los Angeles), the FIRST listing is a Google + business. Strangely, the phone number listed doesn't actually take you to a DUI attorney, but rather to some marketing group that never answers the phone. Can anyone give me insight into why Google even allows this? I just find it odd that Google cares so much about the user experience, but have the first result be something completely misleading. I know it sounds like I'm just jealous (which I am, a little), but I find it disheartening that we work so hard on SEO, and someone takes the top spot with an obvious BS page. UupqBU9

Internal Linking for better seo
On our site http://villasdiani.com we have a blog called Kenya news, which is a category where we regular post articles. I am always creating external links to the category Kenya news so as it would pass juice to the posts in it and the posts have back links to category. There are no internal links among posts in the category. As our main target is to rent beach villas and boutique hotels, each of that posts in the category Kenya news has only a link either to category with beach villas or to category with boutique hotels. My question is, if this is good practice?, is it just not too much links going to categories to beach villas and boutique hotels form the Kenya news?

SEO Company Referral
I am looking for a great US based SEO company referral. I try to do as much as I can on my end but the more I learn, then more I find I need help to do a great job. Lately running the business takes most of my time, and we need a team who really specializes in SEO. Can anyone recommend a SEO company with a great reputation, someone who has done great work for you in the past? I get many people contacting me with SEO promises, but I need some advice from someone with more experience than me. I appreciate all of your insights.
