How seomoz sets the country for google to monitor my rankings?
-
In some of my campaign settings I use specific country for search engine (e.g. "Google Slovakia"). Some times I check the rankings manually too. My process for this:
1. Open a new Chrome incognito window (be sure that that's the only open incognito window)
2. go to google.sk, type in the keyword
3. at the bottom of the page select advanced search, select language: slovak, resubmit the query
That's it.
With my process, the monitored keywords are not there were seomoz reports them.
So the question: with what settings (domain, language anything else) seomoz is tracking the rankings in country specific search engines?

Hi there,
This is Megan from the SEOmoz help team. Sorry that your rankings are looking off in your campaign. I'm not sure why you would be getting different results in the campaign rankings than you would be getting when you run the searches yourself; it could be a lot of things. The search engines - Google, Yahoo! & Bing - all maintain multiple indices that run across multiple datacenters. This means if you query different datacenters, you can get somewhat different ranking results. Other elements, such as personalization, geography and search history (even if you're logged out of your Google/search engine account) can also influence ranking positions. Hence, there can be a lot of variation in what different people, searching from different computers/locations might see in the rankings.
Our solution has been to run searches from a variety of IP addresses and IP blocks using non-personalized, search history/location agnostic requests. In our experience, these have provided the most accurate results, showing what the "most" users see, though we know there's still quite a bit of room for fluctuation.
If you have any other questions or would like us to look specifically at your campaign, feel free to send us a message at help@seomoz.org
Cheers,
Megan

First, in campaigns, settings - when you select the search engine, at the end is a drop down menu for country.
Second in Rank checker, you have a similar drop down menu.
Assuming you are incognito as a separate page when checking and not moving back and forth between incognito and non incognito pages, your search results should be the same if all are on same SearchEngine.sk.
Hope this helps you out.

Rankings Report - figures clarifiction
I've noticed a possible discrepancy with my data and the figures in the Ranking Report >> Rankings which leads to this question: In top 3 : 10 On first page: 19 Is this meant to mean 10 of the 19 are in the top 3, or after the 10 top 3 there are 19 more keywords on first page?

Campaign Manager Keyword Rankings all messed up???
My campaign in SEO Moz Campaign Manager has just ran it's weekly crawl, and all my keyword rankings are messed up. 18 keywords have apparently dropped by massive amounts, but when I do a physical search, they haven't moved. Also Keyword Tracker agrees with the physical search, so why is the Campaign Manager showing the wrong rankings all of a sudden??
