Is the DoFollow vs NoFollow ratio important?
-
Our website has almost 50/50 ratio of dofollow and nofollow links, and our competitors have "better" ratios (more dofollow links).
I suspect it is mainly due to Twitter - several of my blog posts went viral, and had thousands of tweets in total - and twitter links are all nofollow. But I'm not sure about that - do these link count?
Also, do you think that this could cause problems? Should I worry about writing too much viral content without building traditional links first?
-
Ryan is correct. You should not worry about it - if worry about it then you will naturally try to alter the ratio to something that is NOT natural.
My guess is that there is a flag in googles algorithm when it see's a ratio of dofollow to nofollow that is well above the norm. SEO's concentrate on dofollow links, therefore it is an indication of possible manipulative tactics if you see a very high ratio (one that would not occur naturally).
-
As Ryan mentioned the ratio is not important the only difference is do follow pass PR no follow do not.
-
Is the DoFollow vs NoFollow ratio important?
The primary importance is earning organic (natural) links to your site. Both follow and nofollow links are a natural part of the web. If you focus on earning legitimate links to your site, you have nothing to worry about. Whatever the ratio works out as, so be it.
If you engage in manipulative link building practices, then you have to constantly worry about being discovered and penalized. The ratio of follow vs nofollow link is one of many metrics a search engine can examine as a possible flag for guideline violations.
Should I worry about writing too much viral content without building traditional links first?
Absolutely not. This type of problem is one most webmasters dream of having.

Wordpress Plugin That Creates Separate OG Tags vs Title Tags?
Does anyone know of a Wordpress plugin that allows you to create different tags for Open Graph (and potentially even Twitter) than standard Title and Meta Description Tags? As far as I can tell, most plugins just force OG and Twitter to use whatever the standard Title Tag and Description Tag are. But we'd like separate fields for each. Standard Page Titles need a bit of extra keyword love, whereas social media titles we'd like a bit more freedom to focus on branding and creativity / CTR. Tips/feedback appreciated, thank you!

Links to Social Media accounts, rel=nofollow/follow and rel=me
Hi guys, I just saw this rel="me" attribute and I can't find any reputable recent (within last year) information. I never heard of this and wonder if it's any beneficial in any way. At the same time, should I use nofollow or follow on links from website to social accounts? I've heard different opinions but, again, no recent relevant and trustworthy information. Please, kick me into right direction. However, when kicking, please give me some proof, rather than thoughts 🙂 Thanks!

Blogger vs wordpress from SEO perspective
Blogger is under the google umbrella and of course will be in line with google's strategic moves in the future. That includes commenting with google plus accounts and any future integrations. (google plus will HUGE in the future when it comes to SEO)currently there is no way to host blogger on your own servers, which means all your images and video are not really yours from an SEO perspective. Wordpress however does not have as much technical restrictions, but eventually it will be a major competitor to blogger. You can host it on your own servers as well. So from an SEO perspective which one is better?

Facebook Page likes vs Webpage facebook likes - Social Media Query
I have a website and a facebook page. I have the Facebook Social Plugin on my website which shows my facebook page likes - This is currently at approx 140 likes. Is there a difference between facebook page likes and webpage likes? For SEO purposes, should I be concentrating less on the Facebook page and more on building facebook likes for the website? Are there any guides on this? What gets people to like a website as opposed to a web-page?

What is more important, tweets/shares or traditional link building?
SMM has a presence that is just growing and growing. I'm hearing all these back and forth talks about how tweets/shares are influencing rankings more than traditional link building would. If so, would this be a short term ranking improvement, long term? What percentage would you say SMM (ranking factor) has when ranking a website in the SERPS.
