On page links tool here at Seomoz
-
Hi Seomoz - first of all, thanks for the best SEO tools I have ever worked with (this is my first question in this forum, and also I just subscribed as a paying customer after the 30 days trial you guys offer).
My question:
After having worked for several weeks on getting the numbers of links in our forum on www.texaspoker.dk down, we are somewhat surprised to see that we didn't succeed in getting lower numbers.
For instance, this page: http://www.texaspoker.dk/forum/aktuelle-konkurrencer/coaching-projekt-bliver-du-den-udvalgte has (that's what Seomoz seo tool tells us): 239 on page links. Can this really be true? We can't find these links, and we actuually did a lot to lower the numbers of links, for instance the forum members picture was a link before, and also there was a "go to top" link in each post in the forum.
Thanks a lot.

Both of you: Thank you very much! I tagged this question as "good answer" as I believe I got my answer. What about you Pedro?
Great article by Dr. Pete, by the way - thanks for sharing!

There's a couple issues to address here, so let's start with the links.
When I ran the page through a tool called SEO browser, it counted 240 links. This was divided between 5 External and 235 Internal. This includes all the navigation links and most of the profile links as well.
The bigger question is, is this bad? 100 links per page is the accepted best practice, and that's why it's included in the tool. But it's not always appropriate for every case.
Dr. Pete wrote a great article on this: http://www.seomoz.org/blog/how-many-links-is-too-many
In your case, and for the type of page it is, I'd say you're in pretty good shape as far as the number of links go.

Well as far Im aware the crawling in SEOmoz is once a week.
However I have a project with the same problem as yours. In www.digitaldiscovery.eu I have like 200 on-page links in SEOmoz analyze. I already made the correction but in the SEOmoz analyze it still shows up 200 links in several pages of the website after 2 months..... I think we need help here Soren
Anyone from SEOmoz support team please?

Hi Pedro,
Thank you very much for your answer. I have been thinking of the very same as you say: "Maybe it's not updated yet" - but I just think it's strange if the tool has a "memory", since the analysis is made from a complete new crawl ....

Hello Soren,
Your talking about links in your site that are pointing to external websites, right?
If so the SEOmoz tools will take a while to show the situacion updated. Still a SEOmoz member crew would be usefull here

Where is the link prospecting tool?
I feel like last year when Moz was still SEOMoz I used a beta tool that would help you build a bunch of queries for link prospecting. You would tell it what your sites about and a few other pieces of information, and it would give you a list of google queries to get you started (ie inurl:directory <industryname> +"add site"</industryname>). However, I'm having a hard time finding this tool, or any reference to it on the web. It's also possible that it wasn't a moz tool but I'm misremembering where I found it. Does anybody have any idea what I'm talking about?

I am trying to find inbound links for one of my site urls. My question is does SEOMoz able to track all internal links as the Open Site Explorer shows 0 internal links?
It shows 0 internal links when I am pretty sure we have multiple internal links.Should we use absolute urls or relative urls for internal links?

Not all pages are being crawled
I am set up on the PRO plan, I was under the impression that it would crawl up to 10,000 pages. My site has just over 200 pages, but whenever I am crawled it only crawls 121 pages. Is this normal? It's hard to know how reliable my data is because a significant amount of pages are missing.

What happened to the SEOmoz Term Extractor Tool?
I am looking for the SEOmoz Term Extractor Tool and it's nowhere to be found. Does it exist anymore? If not why and what would be a good alternative tool to use? Thank you.

On-Page URL
Hopefully I am missing something basic... I can't see how to specifically add and delete On-Page reports. It seems like running a report adds it but how to delete? Also, how does one change the URL for a report? I have re-organized some pages and can't seem the get the on-page report to keep my URL change. Here is what I tried. From the On-Page report card for a keyword I changed the URL and ran the test. Test runs ok but if I navigate back to the summary my old bad URL is still there.

Link Blocks
Sorry, perhaps a noob question. In relation to site explorer, have also searched and unable to find any information, wondered if anyone could advise as to what "Linking C Blocks" are? Found under the "Compare Link Metrics" tab. Thanks in advance. Lee
