No Link Data Available for this URL appears often. Are my sites too small to show up?
-
I am on the trial until Mar 5, 2012.
I seldom get the info I want. Is it because my sites are too narrow a niche?
I don't seem to be getting the data I'd like from your service. I'm trying to like it, but when I keep getting messages like this, it makes it hard to justify:
"No Link Data Available for this URL appears often"
Sample sites that I am unable to get data. I especially would like to know how many backlinks exist for each site. I paid someone to help me with them and I'd like to verify their work.:

Any suggestions?
Thanx

Thanks for the insights and thorough reply. Actually both 1. and 2. are in play.
Number 1. because the site is new like you said.
Number 2. because the second site, http://CostaRicaDentistReviews.com has had a hired "SEO Expert" who has been working on it since early Jan 2012 whereas the one without the 's' at the end, i.e. http://CostaRicaDentistReview.com has had little done to it.
As I stated in another 'Thank You' reply, I setup both so I could test the two. One with no work, the other being worked on by the hired SEO guy. He said it would take about 4 months for results to show, which makes sense. But, here I am paying him each month, hoping he's right.
One red flag that I see is that he is submitting the same short content ( 3 lines) to every bookmark site. Seventy-five per day.
I am not that SEO knowledgeable but this seems like Google suicide to me. But, he's the "SEO Expert" so what do I know, right?
Thanks again for your help and time!

Thanks for the reply and helpful answer and comments. The second site, http://CostaRicaDentistReviews.com is the one that I have an "SEO Expert" working on whereas the one without the 's' at the end, i.e. http://CostaRicaDentistReview.com has had little done to it.

One red flag that I see is that he is submitting the same, short - very short, as in 3 lines in length short - article to each bookmark site. To me, this is Google suicide, but he's the "SEO Expert" and I'm only the lowly novice with the bad feeling in my gut.
Your answer helps me see that I am jumping the gun, looking for results too early. I'm doing that because I'm paying for the backlink work and suspecting it's for naught because of the replicated content.
Ok, too much info probably, but I wanted to say thanks, and I got carried away. Thanks again for your help!

It's usually 1 of 2 causes that will give you a blank result on Open Site Explorer (OSE).
1. the site is so new, or the newly built links to the site are so new that OSE has not had time to crawl and display those links in their most recent index update. SEOmoz updates the index in OSE once every 30-40 days.
2. all of the links pointing to your sites have not been crawled by OSE. OSE crawls a big portion of the Internet, but it does not crawl 100% of sites out there. So, if we are talking about a site with only a small handful of links, it's quite possible that OSE just doesn't have the crawl depth to pick them up.
Scenario 1 is the most probable case. I looked at the whois information for the first URL you provided, and the domain was registered in December. So, if your site has been active for less than a couple months, I would suspect your link building activities trailed that by several weeks. I would suggest giving it more time for any links you've built (or paid to have built) will start to show up.
In the meantime, you can work on establishing your on-page SEO elements. Have you created a campaign in the SEOmoz tools yet? That is a great start. Good luck!

I checked the first site you linked to and it seems pretty new - just about 2 months old I believe? It doesn't seem to have any links/ authority as of yet and thats why it gives you that "No Link Data Available..." message.
Try acquiring some links on other relevant websites and checking back a few weeks later.

How do sites without access to a site's analytical data, determine a site's organic traffic?
I've recently used a organic traffic checker that showed you your traffic compared to each google algo update. I was interested in how they derived the organic traffic totals for each month, without having access to our site's google analytics? I've since compared the data to historical google analytics data and it's not wrong, isn't 100% match either but isn't far from fact. So if they're predicting or making a guess, it's rather spot on, site crawlers and SERPs snapshots only provide so much info, I'm just wondering where they get the rest from and how?

Automated XML Sitemap for a BIG site
Hi, I would like to do an automated sitemap for my site but it has more than a million pages. It would need to be a sitemap index with a separation on different parts of the site (i.e. news, video) and I'll want a news sitemap and video sitemap as well (of course). Does anyone have any recommended way of making this and how much would you recommend it getting updated? For news and , I would like it to be pretty immediate if possible but the static pages don't need to be updated as much. Thanks!

Why are plus signs (+) suddenly showing up in Google Analytics organic search keywords reports?
Since June 13, 2013, the number of organic search queries containing a plus sign (+) has gone up over 1,000% compared to the previous period on my site in Google Analytics. These plus signs appear to be taking the place of spaces in these search queries (i.e. "word1+word2+word3"). This appears to be almost (or completely) Google organic traffic, not other search engines. Since I highly doubt searcher behavior would change so suddenly, I'm trying to figure out why Google is replacing spaces with plus signs. Is anyone else seeing this? Any ideas?

Why is Google Analytics showing index.php after every page URL?
Hi, My client's site has GA tracking code gathering correct data on the site, but the pages are listed in GA as having /index.php at the end of every URL, although this does not appear when you visit the site pages. Even if there is a redirect happening for site visitors, shouldn't GA be showing the pages as their redirect destination, i.e. the URL that visitors actually see? Could this discrepancy be adversely affecting my search performance? Example page: http://freshstarttax.com/innocent-spouse/ shows up in GA as http://freshstarttax.com/innocent-spouse/index.php thanks

Should we add the city to our keywords for a site that is only local?
This is one of those things I have done for a long time and all of a sudden asked myself was it necessary: For our local clients, we add the city name (Houston, KC, Birmingham) after each keyword. An example would be TestSite.com/big-tester-houston A Title Tag might be Big Tester Houston | Test Site, etc. Where appropriate we do the same with H1 or H2's and occasionally in the content we will use the city name. The thought being that since the site is only for a given city, it will be deemed more relevant than a site from outside.( I understand there are other factors in SEO; this is a specific question around adding the city). Yes, we also optimize with local directories/citation sites. Is this overkill, is it even worthwhile? Is there any evidence one way or another? I would love some strong opinions backed up with something other than anecdotal evidence where possible.
