Keyword research & how it's relevant to my site.
-
How do I know if I can compete on a particular keyword. Say the keyword analysis tool shows the keyword difficulty is 59%. How do I know what 59% means to my site, other than checking domain and page authority relative to my site (i.e. if sites in the top 10 are higher or lower authority than my site). Is there a way of showing what keyword difficulty percentage is a cut off point for my site?
Thanks,
Dan

I think there's no way to get a real answer. Think of this. Let's say Microsoft.com wants to rank for Debt Consolidation as a keyword which has a keyword difficulty of let's say 75. Another keyword they want to rank for is Software, which lets say is 95.
Considering their domain content niche, the nature and relevancy of the links pointing to Microsoft, which would essentially be related to Software, it would be very easy for that domain to rank for Software then Debt Consolidation even though Debt Consolidation might be a lot easier in terms of keyword difficulty.
I would read the keyword difficulty in terms of what kind of keywords you currently rank for, the keywords you want to rank for, search volume and the niche of your website to figure out which keywords you should be targeting. I hope that makes sense.

I have 702 'No-Index' warnings. Is this bad?
Moz has giving me 702 'No-Indexed Meta-descriptions' warnings. My page has quite a bit of product pages as it is a commercial chemical company which sells cleaning products for restaurants, hospitals, etc. Im wondering if this is effecting my site negatively?

Where do I post this list of hacked sites?
Hey guys, Fairly new to SEOmoz but loving it so far. I was working on a new clients site a noticed some spammy links added right before the tag. Used Open site explorer to list the domains linking to the url and found nearly 300 unsuspecting domains. Some like heartresearch.com.au which just drives me craaazy, I have already emailed them. Below is the list. http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/links.html?group=0&page=3&site=www.rhcie.com Short of emailing every single person can anyone suggest a forum or such that would be helpful for posting this information ? I know it's just a few links but it is frustrating to me and If I can do something about it I would like to. Thanks in advance. Jason

Working with Open Site Explorer
Hi everyone, I'm new to keyword analysis, and am in the process of consuming a lot of SEOmoz articles and resources on the subject. I wanted to see if I'm correct in my analysis of two compared sites, and hope you can shed some light on the matter. I've been to the Google Keyword Tool and looked for my informational keywords for the project I'm working on, since the user intent is all about information. A not-so-great keyword phrase I've found with 12,100 local monthly searches is: "programa de inglês" (english programme) I'm just using this as a quick example. I have performed a Google search query for the above phrase from google.com.br (Brazil), and I'm comparing the #2 and #4 results from the 1st page of the SERPs which are: #2) www.programa-ingles.net and #4) http://www.baixaki.com.br/categorias/educacao-e-diversao.htm. What's confusing me is that in Open Site Explorer, the #4 result gets a much higher page authority compared to the #2 result, and beats #2 on every category except for internal–external link ratio and all the social categories. Here's an image attached of the comparison. Is it the fact that the external links of #2 account for 100% of the links pointing to it, or that the #2 position beats (rather pitifully) #5 on social sharing, or is it something that I've not stumbled across yet? Thanks in advance for helping out a n00b. 6HU6hBi.png

Duplicate page reported in Wordpress site, but I can't find it in All Pages list
In a crawl report a duplicate page content warning has been displayed. The two urls are 1. http://www.superheroes.com.au/shop
Moz Pro | | Andyfools
and
2. http://www.superheroes.com.au/shop/category/catalog/ It's a WordPress site and I cannot find the second page anywhere in the list of All Pages in the Admin (I want to add canonicalisation code) When I view the 2nd page and click Edit Page, it redirects to the 1st page. Any ideas where SEOMoz would be finding this 2nd page or how it might be being generated? (btw I didn't build this site) Thanks Simon0 -
Google updated their algorithm. How up to date is OpenSiteExplorer's Domain and Page authority?
Hi guys, as we all know, Google Panda update is here and it changed how they rank inbound links and the linkers domain and page authority. But when I look at OpenSiteExplorer's results, I cant see a difference in the page and domain authority. Why is that?

Moz's customer service. Is this normal?
A few days ago I noticed an issue with the on-page optimizer, when I couldn't find a solution, or even any mention of the problem in the forum I posted a ticket at the help desk.
Moz Pro | | Abidos
After ten hours I got a generic reply that didn't answer my ticket so I posted saying so.
After two days of not getting any reaction I looked through the forums again, this time searching for reactions about Moz's help desk. I found the post saying that sometimes the mail with a reply isn't received correctly so I went to the page of the ticket.
Here I saw that not only didn't I get an answer but my issue had been marked as solved, even though my last message clearly stated that it wasn't. This was three days ago. So my question is, is this how Moz usually treats it's clients? I'm new and my free trial is about to expire. At this point Moz should be impressing me with their great tools and services, convincing me it's worth my money. If I can barely get their attention now I don't expect it to change once I have payed them.0 -
Open Site Explorer Update
What is taking OSE so long to update? The update schedule said the next update was going to be on Dec 28th.
Moz Pro | | Robbie8299
If you open OSE it says "Last Index Update: November 28th, 2011" Today in January 1st. Any thoughts as to why the delay?0 -
