Problem with the keyword difficulty tool
-
- sorry if this has been asked/been written about previously, I had a search but couldn't find anything.
I am using the keyword difficulty tool to narrow down on some keywords and whilst the % score for each keyword is being displayed, the Google Adwords data is blank. It just shows the animation as if it was pulling the data but after some ten mins or so not data is pulled, just the animation still running.
Is there a problem with the tool or does the problem lay at my end?
Thanks,
Carl

Thanks for jumping in here Doug. It is a known problem, and we've made a post about it in ZenDesk at https://seomoz.zendesk.com/entries/21120163-google-adwords-not-displaying-in-keyword-difficulty where you can look for updates. We do have people working on this over the weekend, I know that much.

Carl, it's now displaying the following error message: "Keyword Difficulty Tool is having issues displaying AdWords API data. We are working with AdWords API folks for a fix soon!"
In the meantime you'll have to pop back to the adwords keyword tool to get the traffic numbers.

Why Do Different Tools Report 404s Differently?
Hi Mozers, How come Moz reports just six 404 errors, whereas Google Search Console reports 250 and Screaming Frog only reports a dozen? It seems to me that these results are all over the place. Shouldn't these reports be more consistent? I do understand that Search Console includes historical data and that URLs or issues need to be "marked as fixed" in order for them to go away, however, even if I do this, Google ends up reporting far more errors than anything else. Do 404s reported by Moz and Screaming Frog NOT include external links? It seems to me that this could be partially responsible for the issue. Also, is there a way to efficiently track the source of the 404s besides clicking on "Linked From" within Search Console 250 times? I was looking for something like this is Moz or SF but no luck. Any help is appreciated. Thanksabunch!

Competitive Analysis Problem
I just discovered that, for my competitive analysis, it is set to judge my naked domain instead of www. My rel="canonical" is set to point to www., thus, www. has a much higher domain authority than my naked domain. However, I don;t want to lose all of the history I have accumulated over the years for this domain. How to I make it so SEOmoz matches against www. instead of my naked domain? Which is wiser to gauge by?

Potential site architecture problem.
We are experiencing a problem in which category pages do not appear to be passing Page Authority to subcategory pages. See the example below: Home page has PA of 47 http://www.minespress.com/ The next level category page down has a PA of 34 http://www.minespress.com/category/apparel The next sub category down has PA of 1, and shows no links at all in spite of the fact that we got to it from a category link http://www.minespress.com/category/golf-shirts The page in question is crawlable, is indexed and has nothing that we can see that would be prevent it from showing Page Authority and a link profile using your tools. Do we have a site architecture problem?
