What is the best way to build a Mobile Site?
-
I am looking into building a mobile version for my website, knowing that Google Likes Google should I stick with using their mobile building tool or build something from scratch in Dreamweaver?
How to optimize for Google Mobile?
Thx

build one site for both browser and mobile.
you can use the viewport meta tag and css, to detect the screen size and different css will take over.
@media only screen and (max-width: 850px)
{
csss for mobile
}This has been recomeneded by Bing as they found that sites made just for mobiles do not rank or generate much traffic.
I have made a few pages like this for testing.

Google has a mobile bot. Google webmaster discussed the issue and that can be summed up as "just treat our bots like the end user".
My tips
- DON'T JUST FILTER FOR WEBKIT. It's a pet peeve of mine. Look at the full user-agent. It's not that hard. There are other mobile browsers out there too...
- Template your site (Smarty, etc), with the content as the "meat". Then you can show a stripped-down version easily.
- It doesn't matter what you use to build the mobile site, just be sure to test it in a real mobile phone. Some of the emulators don't give you an accurate idea of it it will work in your phone or not
- Desktop Safari is NOT the same thing as iOS Safari. Learned that the hard way.
- Remember, you're now dealing with a TOUCH environment. Make sure your JS is geared towards that distinction.

Dear William,
my advise. Don't just build a mobile website. Build it for internet and mobile compatible.
Some of our websites were build just for the web and i must say that iPhone's render the pages perfectly but windows phone tend not to. Still most mobile phones nowadays use Android or Apple OS. Since both of them are able to render websites like normal you don't have to adept to mobile devices.
Our websites are even reader compatible. When you open a page in you mobile browser there appear a button that says: reader. Press it and voila the page opens in your favourite reader.
Hope this helps

GSC Performance completely dropped off, but Google Analytics is steady. Why can't GSC track my site anymore?
Hey everyone! I'm having a weird issue that I've never experienced before. For one of my clients, GSC has a complete drop-off in the Performance section. All of the data shows that everything fell flat, or almost completely flat. But in Google Analytics, we have steady results. No huge drop-off in traffic, etc. Do any of you know why GSC would all of a sudden be unable to crawl our site? Or track this data? Let me know what you think!

Does an EAT score on my YMYL site impact my rankings?
I've read some conflicting information on YMYL and EAT. If the Google Quality Raters are out there reviewing YMYL pages and scoring them on EAT, does that site's score have an impact on that page's/site's ranking?

Mobile Usability Issues after Mobile Frist
Hi All A couple months ago we got an email from google, telling us - Mobile-first indexing enabled for https://www.impactsigns.com/ Ran the test on MOZ, Mobile usability shows 100% Last week got an email from google - New Mobile usability issues detected for impactsigns.com Top new issues found, ordered by number of affected pages: Content wider than screen Clickable elements too close together I can not seem to figure out what those issues are, as all content is visible. How important are these 2 issues? Since we are now on the mobile first side?

Less relevant/not optimized competitor sites ranking higher in SERPs?
Has anyone else noticed their rank positions falling to competitor sites that aren't optimized and are less relevant? I've noticed that we've lost some rankings or have dropped over the past few weeks and the competitor pages that have replaced us haven't been optimized, aren't as relevant, and it doesn't look like there has been any updates (looking through archived versions). For example, their main "shoes" gallery is ranking for more specific shoe types, like "sandals", and "sandals" isn't even mentioned in their metadata and they have no on-page copy. Their DA is slightly higher, but our sites have a denser link profile (although, yes, I do need to go through and see what kind of links, exactly, we've gained). Has anyone else seen this happen recently, or have any ideas of why or what we could do to get our rank positions back? My main initiatives have been to create and implement fresh on-page copy, metadata, and manage 404s/301 redirects, but I'm thinking this issue is beyond a quick copywriting tweak.

Dublicate Content: Almost samt site on different domains
Hi, I own a couple of casting websites, which I'm at the moment launching "local" copies of all over the world. When I launch my website in a new country, the content is basically allways the same, except the language sometimes changes country for country. The domains will vary, so the sitename would be site.es for Spain, site.sg for Singapore, site.dk for Denmark and so. The websites will also feature diffent jobs (castings) and diffent profiles on the search.pages and so, BUT the more static pages are the same content (About us, The concept, Faq, Create user and so). So my Questions are: Is this something that is bad for Google SEO? The sites are atm NOT linking to each other with language-flags or anything - Should I do this? Basically to tell google that

the business behind all these sites are somewhat big. Is there a way to inform Google on, that these sites should NOT be treated as dublicate content (Canonical tag wont do, since I want the "same" content to be listet on the locally Google sites). Hope there is some experts here which can help. /Kasper0 -
A website Mobile versions for different languages
Hi There!, A website available in two languages(EN, FR) but mobile version is only available for one languages (EN). Mobile website is designed by following 'Separate URLs' configuration. is redirect to: https://m.sitegeek.com/godaddy (if page opened in mobile)
() But, same URL is in France language https://fr.sitegeek.com/godaddy is not redirected to https://m.sitegeek.com/godaddy So what would the correct implementation? France version would be redirected to English mobile version till Fr version is not prepared or it should not be redirected ? Rajiv0 -
SERP Question - Site showing up for national term over local term recently
Hey Moz, This has been happening to me with a couple of clients recently and I wanted to kick it out to the community and see if anyone else has experienced it and might be able to shed some light on why. (Disclaimer: Both clients are in the elective healthcare space)
Algorithm Updates | | Etna
Scenario: Client's site is optimized for a fairly competitive "procedural keyword + location" phrase. Historically, the site had been ranking on the first page for a while until it suddenly dropped off for that query. At the same time, the page now ranks on the first page for just the procedural term, without the location modifier (obviously much more competitive than with the location modifier). Searches on Google were set to the city in which the client was located. Not that I'm complaining, but this seems a little weird to me. Anyone have a similar situation? If so, any theories about what might have caused it? TL;DR - Site ranked on 1st page for "keyword + location modifier" historically, now ranking on 1st page for "keyword" only and not found with "keyword + location modifier" TRQd9Hu0 -
