Main Page title change.
-
Hi,
For some reason every week or two I am changing the title tag of my main page. Each change takes place because I find new version better than the old one.
Does this have any impact on my SEO results (I'm keeping the main keywords each time) ?
If it has an impact is it positive or negative ? And should I stick to one title and not change it under any circumstances for long periods of time ?
Thanks!

You can modify the title how often you whant but be carefull that it is relevant to the content of the page and the most important keywords in title are in your content. You can read the begginer guide from seomoz on page optimisation, or google webmaster help

It should not have negative impact. Search engines just being adjusted and their info are being updated. Of course it is best to have best title.

Depending on how often google crawls your site you may be amending the title and then amending it again before it even gets a chance to re-crawl the site.
In that case Google may not even know about the short term version. It would probably be worth optimising once, leaving and seeing how much of an SEO impact the changes have made before tryign to change it again. Generally once you have the "right" title you won't need to keep switching it.

To change the Title every week or two does not affect per se the ranking potential if you maintain your main keyword in it... and better it is in the beginning of the Title (as a standard in the first 4 words).
But surely it has a marketing consequence, as people will never be able to assign a clear "Title/Tagline" to your site, and that should be also the function of the Title.

I don't think the frequency of <title>tag changes affect your on-page score, but the title you choose definitely will. It's one of the most important on-page signals. The general best practice is to start the title with the keyphrase that the page is optimized for and then may have company brand in there, too. But whatever you do, keep it short and start with the keyphrase that the page is optimized for. Once you've done this you shouldn't have to change it again.</p></title>

Any change has an impact on seo results sometimes better sometimes bad, it is the content of your site that is good to change often

Page Title versus H1 title
What's the difference between the Page Title and the H1 title? It seems like both summarize the page. Is it a wasted opportunity to make them the same? Should they be similar but slightly different?

Duplicate Page Titles in Crawl Errors (although Google is rewriting in serps ??)
Hi Im working on a client/project and crawl report is showing thousands of dupe page titles In the case of the blog/news section its aprox 50 since aprox 50 posts and they all have the same meta-title: "Brand News | Brand" as opposed to: "Title Unique to Page/Topic/KW Relating to Content | Brand" Since these are the main content pages we want to rank (in addition to the main site category pages) then i have instructed dev must prioritise populating these pages meta-titles with the actual post/article titles, as per the latter version of the above example. (I should mention that i have requested they fix all dupe titles but main content pages are the priority). Whilst this will reduce the number of dupe titles in crawl error/warning report which is a good thing, is it actually likely to increase the ranking of these news/content pages given that Google does seem to be rewriting the titles correctly in the serps based on the page content ? Many Thanks in advance for your input

"Issue: Duplicate Page Content " in Crawl Diagnostics - but these pages are noindex
Saw an issue back in 2011 about this and I'm experiencing the same issue. http://moz.com/community/q/issue-duplicate-page-content-in-crawl-diagnostics-but-these-pages-are-noindex We have pages that are meta-tagged as no-everything for bots but are being reported as duplicate. Any suggestions on how to exclude them from the Moz bot?

Duplicate Page Title
I have a dating site, it's got a lot of duplicate page titles, most of them are the language buttons for the users to view the site in there language. but I think it's obvious that the buttons don't have anything to do with it. I'm thinking that page tittle is basically a description of what the site is. like for an example "online-dating" is this it? please tell me in terms for a dummy, how to fix it.

Opinions please on Duplicate page titles & too many on-page links warnings.-
Hello folks, I'm a total SEO newbe but totally enjoying
On-Page Optimization | | CSC
using SEOmoz to learn more. We have ecommerce sites and the 1st crawl flags – as appears typical too many on-page links. We display up to 20 products (each with three links!)
and I’m trying to push to have fewer but meeting resistance from colleagues.
We have links duplicated all over the site believing it eases navigation. My question is just how critical is the number of products displayed
and the resulting volume of links to SEO results? Also we currently have collections of products displayed
across several pages which of course have the same page title and this is flagged
as a duplication error. I wonder if product auto-scrolling help as this means only a certain number of products are displayed at one time on one page thus reducing links and the need for duplicate page titles? My superiors are resisting change (perhaps nervous of spoiling
what already works) and I need to know where to direct my persuasive powers! Many thanks in anticipation, Spence0 -
