Should links to tech data sheet be no follow?
-
I'm an SEO beginner, and on a new ecommerce (shopify) store I have a collection of paint.
Each of the 52 products will link to the technical data sheet PDF. Should these links be no follow? or noreferrer?
If all the links to this PDF signal that it is important - it is not more important than the home or product collection pages.
Thanks!

I would simply leave all PDFs as dofollow - unless they are not unique or if any of PDFs have content that has already been published on the site (html/ page).
Are all 52 PDFs have same content? If so I would let get 1 of them indexed and use NOFOLLOW/NOINDEX on rest (use robots.txt) and may be even use 'canonical' to prevent the others from being indexed and cause any potential duplicate content issue.
Some good reference for you:

Hi Syed,
Thank you so much for answering my question!
Just to clarify, do you mean that
- If I link to the PDF on product 1
- Then I no follow the links to the other 51 of the 52 products
so that there is only 1 followed link to the PDF?
I am not using the PDF content on the pages - I am using product descriptions.
The PDF link is to provide answers to customer frequently asked questions. Mainly to prevent repeated phone calls to answer material covered in the PDF - too lengthy and technical for a product description for typical home decorators.
Or should I put the PDF content on an actual web page, and link to it from the products?
Then link to a download?
The products are more important than the technical info, I'd rather not have a lot to distract from someone adding to the cart. Just provide helpful info for someone who wants more.

Doesn't matter much since if you use NoFollow you still lose a certain rank "juice". If i were you I'd leave them as it is - but If you are using same content from PDF on other web pages, I will nofollow/noindex them

Safety Data Sheet PDFs are Showing Higher in Search Results than Product Pages
I have a client who just launched an updated website that has WooCommerce added to it. The website also has a page of Safety Data Sheets that are PDFs that contain information about some of the products. When we do a Google search for many of the products the Safety Data Sheets show up first in the search results instead of the product pages. Has anyone had this happen and know how to solve the issue?

Internal linking disaster
Can someone help me understand what my devs have done? The site has thousands of pages but if there's an internal homepage link on all of the pages (click on the logo) shouldn't that count for internal links? Could it be because they are nonfollow? http://goo.gl/0pK5kn I've attached my competitors opensiteexplorer rankings (I'm the 2nd column) .. so despite the face the site is new you can see where I'm getting my ass kicked. Thanks! psRsQtH.png

Forms and link juice
On product listing page on e-commerce site We use POST forms as 'Add To Cart' buttons. Because of that We have dozens (~40-80) forms on any product listing page, and two questions regarding them: Does these forms affect link juice of other links on the page? Are there cases when forms are somehow counted by Google as links? Regards, Lucek

Redirect link from a particular domain
Hi guys/gals, I have a few domains and blogs which I use really for a bit of fun and experimenting. One of the domains (abc.com) wasn't doing much but has a few decent links built to it. I redirected this domain to an active blog (123.com). Here's the problem: There's a particular external link to the homepage of abc.com which drives a lot of traffic but isn't relevant to the content of 123.com which it redirects to, causing a huge bounce rate from this link. Is there a way (maybe using using htaccess) that I can redirect traffic from this one link to another domain completely? I've contacted the owner of the external site but they are unable (or unwilling) to change the link. I hope I haven't lost you all but shout if you need any clarification. Thanks in advance!

Asking to remove links from other sites
How hard is it to get people to take off links that point to your site that are on theirs? I have about 4 sites that I would like my link OFF of their blogroll because I think I was hit by the penguin update because of that. Do you know if there is anything you can do if they DON'T take it off?
