How is this different than Go Daddy Spam?
-
Out of boredom, I googled up "SEO Company". #1 result is qualifiedimpressions.com.
Taking a look at their link profile it seems they are utilizing anchor text on all their clients' websites. Moreover, it appears they have multiple sites for each of their phrases (which they cross link).
Qualified Impressions - SEO Company
WeBuildRankings.com - SEO Service
VisibilitySquad - SEO Companies
Some of their clients are rocking multiple anchor text links.
How is this not any different than what Go Daddy did recently?
-
If they are #1, i would suspect that among all the links are a few good ones that are giving them rankings, this has been my experience in many cases when it's not clear why a page is ranking.
I also have some links on sites I have built, but I no longer bother as if the site is not relevant and your have a link in the footer, then they will be of limited value

Traffic going down in all sites in a niche
Hello, A client has three Ecommerce sites in a niche. Because of competition and a (possibly) non manual penalty due to doorways and paid links (though I think it's mainly competition too) our traffic is going down. What are the keys to increasing traffic at this point. Feel free to include tricks that cost money. A Hrefs (I love Moz though!) has some neat content tricks. Please give me the best tricks in the industry to increase traffic. We're adding content to the main site of the three and maybe that's what to focus on, but we're having trouble driving serious traffic with the content. We need serious traffic. We are experts in our field and capable of almost anything as far as information goes in our field. Thanks.

Is This Going to Hurt?
A client had a very grateful customer, who submitted their sites to www.pingmyurl.com Do you think that this is going to wind up hurting us in the long run as far as webspam, or is this a pretty legit service? Anyone have an opinion or any experience with this site?

Webiste Ranking Differently Based on IP/Data Center
I have a site which I thought was ranking well, however that doesn't seem to be the case. When I check the site from different IPs within the US it shows that the site is on page 1 and on other IPs it shows that it's on page 5 and for some keywords it shows it's not listed. This site was ranking well, before but I think google dropped it when I was giving putting in too much work with it (articles and press releases), but now it seems to have recovered when I check with my IP, but on other data centers it still shows it prior to recovering. It was able to recover after not building links to for a period of time, it showed it moved back up from the data center I'm connected to, but it still shows the possibly penalized results on other data centers. Is it possible that site is still penalized? So the question is why does it show it recovered in some data centers and not others? How do I fix this? It's been about 2 months since it's recovered from some data centers. Is this site still penalized or what's going on? There are no warnings in web master tools. Any insights would be appreciated! This isn't an issue with the rank tracking software, I've tested this on a multitude of IPs with varying differences. Thanks!

Difference between Syndication, Autoblogging, and Article Marketing
Rands slide deck titled 10 Steps to Effective SEO & Rankings from InfusionCon2011 on slide 82 recommends content syndication as a method for building traffic and links. How is this any different than article marketing? He gave an example of this using a screenshot of this search result for "headsmacking tip discussion." All of those sites that have republished SEOmoz's content are essentially autoblogs that post ONLY content generated by other people for the purpose of generating ad clicks from their organic traffic. We know that Google has clearly taken a position against these types of sites that offer no value. We hear Matt Cutts say to stay away from article marketing because you're just creating lots of duplicate content. Seems to me that "syndication" is just another form of article marketing that spreads duplicate content throughout the web. Can someone help me understand the difference? By the way, the most interesting one I saw in those results was the syndicated article on businessweek.com!.
