Find pages containing broken links.
-
hi everyone,
for each internal broken links I need to find all the pages that contain it.
In the Seomoz report there is only a refferer link for each broken link, but google webmaster tools indicates that the dead link is present in many pages of the site.
there is a way to have these data with SEOmoz or other software, in a csv report ?
thanks

Hi wwmind,
I was going suggest Xenu, but also Screaming Frog. There's a both a free and paid version. To crawl more than 500 URLs, you'd need to get a license for the paid version.

The other option, if you can't find all of your broken links, is to redirect them via a 301. Installing a bunch of 301's via .htaccess or another means isn't as good of a solution as fixing your links, but it might offer a more scalable solution.
Regardless, best of luck with your SEO!

I've used Xenu's Link Sleuth on sites with +5.000 pages. Worked just fine for me. But two setups are never equally alike.
But if you re not satisfied with Xenu try looking for some of the pro sitemap apps - a lot of them come with a "broken links checker" tool ...

I had problems with Xenu on large sites.

Hi
I would use Xenu's Link Sleuth (freeware)

Specific external links
So...we have an A+ rating with the BBB and have for some time. We have a link from their page. We also use sites like pricegrabber and reseller rankings and have links from those. What I can't figure out is why links from the BBB and Pricegrabber don't even show up in open site explorer but the reseller ratings links are everywhere. The BBB one is easily the oldest and the other two are roughly the same age (i.e. at least a couple years old.)

How bad are poor link profiles for a website?
A client has recently switched to us for their SEO and is hugely concerned about their previous company's link building efforts. They say that they have recently removed over 300 links but OSE still lists 160 links. So three questions: How long will it take for OSE to recognise if the links have been removed? How great could the effects of this be on the site's rankings? If we continue to struggle with getting the links removed would Google's disavow tool make much of a difference or are there negatives that sould be considered first?

Seo moz has only crawled 2 pages of my site. Ive been notified of a 403 error and need an answer as to why my pages are not being crawled?
SEO Moz has only crawled 2 pages of my clients site. I have noticed the following. A 403 error message screaming frog also cannot crawl the site but IIS can. Due to the lack of crawling ability, im getting no feed back on my on page optimization rankings or crawl diagnostics summary, so my competitive analysis and optimization is suffering Anybody have any idea as to what needs to be done to rectify this issue as access to the coding or cms platform is out of my hands. Thank you

Why does SEOMoz only crawl 1 page of my site?
My site is: www.thetravelingdutchman.com. It has quite a few pages, but for some reason SEOMoz only crawls one. Please advise. Thanks, Jasper

Is anybody else having great difficulty in finding good link opportunities on Open Site Explorer?
I've been using OSE for a while now, and I'm struggling to see any value in it. When I search my competitors link profiles, I find just hundreds and hundreds of crappy reciprocal links, splogs or the like. I have to go through days and days (thousands of links) before I find anything worth using. Is anybody having this sort of problem? Thanks

Dynamic URL pages in Crawl Diagnostics
The crawl diagnostic has found errors for pages that do not exist within the site. These pages do not appear in the SERPs and are seemingly dynamic URL pages. Most of the URLs that appear are formatted http://mysite.com/keyword,%20_keyword_,%20key_word_/ which appear as dynamic URLs for potential search phrases within the site. The other popular variety among these pages have a URL format of http://mysite.com/tag/keyword/filename.xml?sort=filter which are only generated by a filter utility on the site. These pages comprise about 90% of 401 errors, duplicate page content/title, overly-dynamic URL, missing meta decription tag, etc. Many of the same pages appear for multiple errors/warnings/notices categories. So, why are these pages being received into the crawl test? and how to I stop it to gauge for a better analysis of my site via SEOmoz?

Link Blocks
Sorry, perhaps a noob question. In relation to site explorer, have also searched and unable to find any information, wondered if anyone could advise as to what "Linking C Blocks" are? Found under the "Compare Link Metrics" tab. Thanks in advance. Lee
