What is TBPR distribution?
-
Hi,
Was reading a new article on moz and the sentence 'A spike towards the low end of the TBPR distribution' came up.
Ok so TBPR stands for 'Tool Bar Page Rank', where is this tool bar, and how can you use it for something called TBPR distribution?
Cheers

I think that post (if it's the one I remember) was talking about making a graph of the pr of pages that link to a website. Ie How many links come from pages with pr0, pr1, pr2 etc etc.
All the sentence is referring to is looking for a spike in the graph at the lower pr levels pr0, pr1, pr2 etc as a sign of perhaps low quality.
There are various plugins available for the different browsers to see the pr of individual pages (eg I use Chrome and have SEO Site Tools installed). But bare in mind that the TBPR is rounded number of the actual PR of a page from one moment in time and is only updated a few times a year. True PR is a constantly updated value.

Impact of distribution of backlinks across multiple pages
Community, I would be interested to see if anyone has been seeing any experiments, experience documentation, or other data that would give context around the impact of pointing backlinks not just to your money page / home page but distribute it across pages. When doing competitive research I often run into competition which has lower domain strength and page rank but a link profile that is more spread out across their domain; these competitors often outrank my site despite their individual page properties being weaker. Any reference to existing documented experiments, personal experience or guidance is welcome.

Anyone used this service before? - Organic Content Distribution
I was pitched today by a "content syndication network" that claims to be able to syndicate across 200 "local news" sites along with syndicate the content to the editors and writers social sites, along with the publisher social sites for a flat fee. Just like a MarketWire.com service but NOT for press releases. For articles. The company offering this is www.befirstinc.com. Need to vett them out and make sure this is not a FTC nor Google Quality Guidelines violation for SEO purposes.

Do you believe TLD distribution effects rankings in Google?
I have noticed that when looking at TLD distribution of backlinks for many websites that have grown organically, the TLD distribution is somewhat consistent depending on the style of website (I am using MajesticSEO to find this distribution data). Do you feel deviating from this TLD distribution depending on the style of website you have would cause negative effects with Google? Has there been any testing of this that you know of that you can point me to (ex: building all backlinks from .info TLDs and seeing if you rank well for given keywords)? I ask because my companies website has seen some big deviations from this and although I don't see any negative effects currently I want to make sure we create a site that stays consistent with what Google is looking for. For example, if I look at news sites such as New York Times and Los Angeles Times, I see TLD distributions as such: nytimes.com

.com = 59%
.gov = 14%
.org = 12%
.uk = 2%
.edu = 2% latimes.com
.com = 59%
.org = 13%
.gov = 11%
.edu = 4%
.net = 2%
.uk = 2% From that, if you are a news site, my assumption would be to try to stay consistent with around 55-65% of your links coming from .com domains, around 9-15% from .org, etc etc . Now, looking at large blog styles sites I see this distribution: naturalnews.com
.com = 70%
.org = 11%
.edu = 3%
.net = 2%
.gov = 1% techcrunch.com
.com = 71%
.org = 10%
.edu = 4%
.net = 3%
.gov = 1% Any input or links to tests of this would be much appreciated.0 -
How do I distribute blog content?
Morning Mozzers! I work for an online wedding retailer and we add new, unique, high quality content to our blogs on a daily basis. After adding the new content we Tweet it and mention it on our Facebbok page. My question is this: how can I distribute the content to generate back links? Any example sites or case studies of things you guys have done in the past would be great! Thanks in advance.
