301 from old domain to new domain
-
Hi,
I need to create a 301 redirect for all internal pages located on organic7thheaven.com to the homepage of our new site at http://www.7thheavennaturals.com/
Currently internal pages of the old site such as the following are returning a page not found
www.organic7thheaven.com/products/deepcleansing/miraclemud.asp
Can anyone help me in setting up a .htaccess file for this problem please?
Thanks

Hi,
Looks like you might have already figured it out cause it redirect properly?
www.organic7thheaven.com/products/deepcleansing/miraclemud.asp
Redirects to
http://www.7thheavennaturals.com/products/deepcleansing/miraclemud.asp/
HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently => Connection => close Date => Fri, 13 Apr 2012 13:39:22 GMT Server => Microsoft-IIS/6.0 X-Powered-By => ASP.NET X-AspNet-Version => 2.0.50727 Location => http://www.7thheavennaturals.com/products/deepcleansing/miraclemud.asp Cache-Control => private Content-Length => 0
But the code would be (All one line formatting here is bad)
Redirect 301 /products/deepcleansing/miraclemud.asp http://www.7thheavennaturals.com/products/deepcleansing/miraclemud.asp/
If you used the code
Options +FollowSymLinks
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^(.)yourdomain.com [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.)$ http://yournewdomain.com/$1 [R=301,L]SInce it appears you have the same directory structure, then technically this is a chain redirect, even though Google says this is "okay" it is preferred to do it page by page.

Merge 2 websites into one, using a non-existing, new domain.
I need to merge https://www.WebsiteA.com and https://www.WebsiteB.com to a fresh new domain (with no content) https://www.WebsiteC.com. I want to do it the best way to keep existing SEO juice. Website A is the companies home page and built with Wordpress Website B is the company product page and built with Wordpress Website C will be the new site containing both website A and B, utilizing Wordpress also. What is the best way to do this? I have research a lot and keep hitting walls on how to do it. It's a little trickier because it's two different domains going to a brand new domain. Thanks

301 vs 302
Hello everyone! I'm working with a site right now that is currently formatted as subdomain.domain.net. The old version of the site was formatted as domain.net, with domain.com and several other variants redirecting to the current format, subdomain.domain.net. All of these redirects are 302, and I'm wondering if I should have all these changed to 301. Many of our old backlinks go to the old format of domain.net and i know the juice isn't being passed through, but i was wondering if there is any reason why you may want a 302 over a 301 in this case? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks!

301'd site, but new site is not getting picked up in google.
Hi I'm having big issues! Any help would be greatly appreciated This is the 3rd time this happened. Every time I switch my old site greatcleanjokes.com to the new design of chokeonajoke.com traffic goes almost completely down (I even tried out the new design on greatcleanjokes [to see if it was a 301 issue] and traffic also went down.) What can possibly be wrong with this new site that google just doesn't like it ?! I was ranking high up for many big phrase like joke of the day, corny jokes, clean jokes, short jokes. Now It's all gone. I also think it's strange that when I search for site:chokeonajoke.com the post pages show up before the category pages!? Here is the old site http://web.archive.org/web/20140406214615/http://www.greatcleanjokes.com/ Here is the new one http://chokeonajoke.com/ If you can't figure out anything do you know of anyone I can hire who may be able to figure it out?

Concerned about Dup content between old and new website
I have an 8 year old plastic surgery website with my name in the url. I have just released a new website with a generic local plastic surgery url without my name. However my google authorship photo is appearing in listings from both sites with different URLs. So far Google is listing pages from both sites on the same google page result for similar search terms. However I am concerned that eventually I may be punished for dup content since I am the same author for both pages?

301 Redirects Change?
Hi, Mozzers- I've noticed pages that are getting 301 redirected are staying out there longer. It used to be that you would implement a 301 redirect and then after a couple of months the old page would disappear out of Google's index. Over the last couple of months I've noticed pages lingering, popping up.... What gives? Thanks in advance! LHC

Is there a great tool for URL mapping old to new web site?
We are implementing new design and removing some pages and adding new content. Task is to correctly map and redirect old pages that no longer exist.
