Are they going to deindex everyone?
-
Looking at the over-optimisation list it pretty much seems to me something that everyone is doing so are we suddenly going to find the best results actually de-indexed.
Maybe Google will slowly shut off indexing stage by stage so everyone changes.
What are your thoughts?

Alan, I like most of your responses. A fat thumbs up for you! I don't risk getting my clients' websites. Imagine me losing all the income? I had a talk with my client that I can get him to the top by creating a little shady things (spam) OR I could take the long hard road. We took the long hard road which was based off his decision to retire in the next two years. We can't afford to get Google smacked.
@Gareth, not everyone spams or over-optimizes. I definitely don't over optimize. It lowers conversions because the content becomes unreadable. ACTUALLY, my sites are ranking higher now so I am glad this is happening.

I would be inclined to agree with the gentleman who have answered above me. I do not know what Google will do for sure as I believe almost no one including even some that work at Google do. However I would imagine Google would be more apt to tackle the people who are manipulating their ranking on Google by use of keyword stuffing, link farms and on and on. The fact that someone can be penalized for having a website that is to highly optimized I find disturbing however I really doubt and hope it is only the people that have practiced Google has told us our black/grey hat tactics. I consider myself a ethical business man like the gentleman above me said I would never practice any of the black/grey hat techniques to improve my own or my clients ranking it just doesn't make sense to do that. I would imagine if they were to delist everyone that has done something to make sure there on page seo is optimized they would devalue some of their results that everyday people count on Google. To put it plainly if they did that Google would hurt themselves because it ordinary people not get what they are looking for when they search Google. I hope this is of some help.

At the end of the day google is trying to get poor websites who are listing because they either stuffed title tags, crammed keywords in filler content in a footer and other poor seo tactics. If you optimized your site properly with keyword research in a logical manner I do not suspect to see an impact. The only impact you could see is the devaluing of links from poor websites to yours and you see a trickle down effect.

What list is this?
From all i have heard, it is spam that is getting de-indexed, i would not say everyone is spamming, I certainly do not risk my clients sites with spam.

Google has deindexed a page it thinks is set to 'noindex', but is in fact still set to 'index'
A page on our WordPress powered website has had an error message thrown up in GSC to say it is included in the sitemap but set to 'noindex'. The page has also been removed from Google's search results. Page is https://www.onlinemortgageadvisor.co.uk/bad-credit-mortgages/how-to-get-a-mortgage-with-bad-credit/ Looking at the page code, plus using Screaming Frog and Ahrefs crawlers, the page is very clearly still set to 'index'. The SEO plugin we use has not been changed to 'noindex' the page. I have asked for it to be reindexed via GSC but I'm concerned why Google thinks this page was asked to be noindexed. Can anyone help with this one? Has anyone seen this before, been hit with this recently, got any advice...?

Homepage is deindexed in Google
We recently noticed that our primary page was de-indexed in Google. When looking in google search console there are no manual actions taken. We did add a few new banners to the site but I have no idea why this would have negatively affected that site. I did add a new page called https://enleaf.com/company/testimonials/ that had some duplicate testimonials that were also on the home page but have since removed that. Not sure where to go from here.

Home Page Deindexed Only at Google after Recovering from Hack Attack
Hello, Facing a Strange issue, wordpress blog hghscience[dot]com was hacked by someone, when checked, I found index.php file was changed & it was showing some page with a hacked message, & also index.html file was added to the cpanel account. All pages were showing same message, when I found it, I replaced index.php to default wordpress index.php file & deleted index.htmlI could not find any other file which was looking suspicious. Site started working fine & it was also indexed but cached version was that hacked page. I used webmaster tool to fetch & render it as google bot & submitted for indexing. After that I noticed home page get deindexed by google. Rest all pages are indexing like before. Site was hacked around 30th July & I fixed it on 1st Aug. Since then home page is not getting indexed, I tried to fetch & index multiple time via google webmasters tool but no luck as of now. 1 More thing I Noticed, When I used info:mysite.com on google, its showing some other hacked site ( www.whatsmyreferer.com/ ) When Searching from India But when same info:mysite.com is searched from US a different hacked site is showing ( sigaretamogilev.by )However when I search "mysite.com" my site home page is appearing on google search but when I check cached URL its showing hacked sites mentioned above. As per my knowledge I checked all SEO Plugins, Codes of homepage, can't find anything which is not letting the homepage indexed.PS: webmaster tool has received no warning etc for penalty or malware. I also noticed I disallowed index.php file via robots.txt earlier but now I even removed that. 7Dj1Q0w.png 3krfp9K.png

International SEO: What to do when you're using a ccTLD and want to go global
I'm hoping someone in the Moz community can help me with this one! Essentially, we have a .co.uk brand which wants to have more of an international presence. My question is, purely based on the fact that we're a .co.uk, will we find it more challenging to develop a search engine presence in European/BRIC markets? In a perfect world, we'd have a .com/country or a .es/ etc, but if this isn't possible, how hindered are we if we stick with the .co.uk and want to build a presence in Spain?

How long does it take for Google for deindexing pages?
Hi mozzers, We just launched a mobile website(parallel) and realized that it created many duplicate content with desktop URLs. I decided to add name="robots" content="No index, No follow" /> to the entire mobile site. My only concern is that I am still seeing the mobile site indexed when it's been almost a week I added these tags. Does anyone know how long it takes google to deindex your content? Thanks
