Do Follow- Social Media sites
-
Does anyone have a list of do follow social media network sites.
I am looking to list some of my customers on social media network sites, but having the bonus of do follow to pass link Juice is an extra bonus.
Most of my customers have Twitter and Facebook profiles- but these happen to be no follows.
I am looking for more social media sites that are do follow.
I did see an article on this- on SEM MOz I believe but I cant find it.
Any suggestions?

Have you looked through the SEOmoz blog for posts on link building? The link building category at http://www.seomoz.org/blog/category/4 has lots of ideas, including a recent excellent post on link building using events that may help some of the small business clients much more than a link from Digg where it has just one vote.
Some social sites, such as Digg, don't host the content, they just provide a link to where the content is hosted.Given that you're new to this, you might consider getting familiar with some of these concepts on some sites of your own that you can afford to mess up on before learning on client sites, unless the clients are aware that you're expanding into this area and learning as you go.

Hi Kane,
My core area is Adwords, then more recently on-page SEO.
I am very new to link building.
Thanks for that. It is not the driving force in my link building efforts. I use SEO MOZ Linkscape to build a competitors campaign to target and gain links from.
However some of the customers I have are small- and getting links manually is not easy. So I think a 2-3 social bookmarking sites that have do follow will help the link building cause significantly.
My understanding is that low competition and to a degree medium competition keywords(sometimes with geographic modifiers for local small business)- it is possible to get 1st page rankings without even using link building. I have tested this to some degree and been successful. So getting a handful of directory links that are industry based(often found within the competitors backlinks) is useful.
However I was thinking that as the top social book marking sites are not really industry specific in content- but they do have a very high domain rank. That writing an article in the top 3 like(Digg, Squidoo etc) and getting this backlink with variations of the top 3 keywords would boost rankings significantly because their competitors backlink profiles(small companies) are not very strong either.
What are your thoughts on this.
Also, with regards to social bookmarking. I imagine the content must be published first on the social website, and then pointed back to the customer website with a link contain the meta keyword. Can the customer later publish the same content on their website? How can it be attributed to the same author and not show as duplicate content? Do the social book mark sites have tags like RSS feeds to mark the authour?

You're right, but don't get totally caught up in the follow/nofollow, it's not the only value provided by the links and if it's a driving force in your link building, you're probably missing out on some valuable nofollowed links.
That said, here's a better answer to your original question - a more complete list compiled in March 2011:
http://www.searchrank.com/blog/2011/03/ultimate-social-media-profile-chart.html
There may be others once you finish those - this SERP has a few articles that might contain more options:

I cant see how this answers my question. On this site is Twitter and Facebook. Both of these sites are no follow?
-
Not all of the sites on there are followed, but if you can't find it on KnowEm.com, it's probably not worth being on (with the exception of niche sites).
That said, if you're just building profile links it won't do much good without some form of participation.

GWT Lists URLs with links to my site, but those URLs don't have links to my site
There are a number of URLs that show up for my website in Webmaster Tools as having links to my site when in fact they don't. I know this to be a fact because I actually wrote some of the sites that Google is saying are linking to my site and I know there isn't any links on the specific pages to that site. For example, the site in question is: https://www.liftproducts.com/ As an example, Google is saying that about 100 URLs from https://www.lift-tables.net/ are linking to it when, I'm fairly confident that there is only 1 link to it found here: https://www.lift-tables.net/info.php?countrytabs=3 Yet Google says links exist on this (and many more) page: https://www.lift-tables.net/liftproducts/max-lift/lpt4w-030-48.php I thought at first it might have been due to linking to a image file directly instead of locally hosting it, but after checking the source, that's not the case. I am also seeing this type of non-linking being reported on sites I have no clue what they are. For example, some Spanish site about tandem bicycles is being listed as linking to liftproducts.com: http://206-225-85-34.dedicated.abac.net/tandem/inc Yet I can find no evidence of an actual link existing. Am I missing something here? Any insight of why this is happening and how I can clean up my link signature would be appreciated.

Accidentally generated navigation links that point to American site from Australian site.
Somehow we ended up getting hundreds-of-thousands of links coming from our .au (Australia site) to our .com (America site). We believe that something happened during a change that turned a handful of our example.com.au navigational and footer links into back links pointing to example.com and sub-domains of the American version. We are currently fixing this, but we are wondering if this could potentially be problematic in terms of a penguin penalty due to an unnatural linking campaign or back link scheme. Could this error create major problems for us in the near future if we have corrected the issue? Your thoughts are welcome! Thanks!

Date specific keywords, what to do for following year?!?
Hi, Lets say I have a page with the keyword 'film releases 2012', I rank the term and it picks up some back links and social signals. The year ends and search begins for 'film releases 2013'. Do I: 1. Create a new page targeting 'film releases 2013' and redirect the old page to the new one. 2. Just have one page with the url .co.uk/film-releases/ and when the year ends for 2012 just change the 2012 to 2013 (title, h1 tags etc). I'm 99% sure number 2 is the best option but the only negative is the url does not contain the year. I could just have the 1 page with the date in the url and when it enters the new year change the url to contain the new date but that would break any backlinks, so I could redirect anyone trying to get to the old url to the new one which should pass the PR across. But im guessing I would lose some PR in the process so maybe not having the date in the url would not effect SEO to much so rolling with number 2 is best bet. Cheers

Total Links vs Ext. Followed Links
Hi I'm fairly new to SEO and SEOMOZ. I've created a campaign for my own site and I've added 3 competitor sites. There are 1,385 total links to my site and a massive 49,450 links to one of my competitor's site. However under "Ext. Followed Links", there are 1,045 to my site and only 911 to the same competitor site. Am I correct that it is the "Ext. Followed Links" which are more important from an SEO point of view as the other links have the "no follow" attribute set? Or have I got this wrong? Thanks James
