Does hosting server location affect my local google page rank
-
Hi All,
This is my first (of many I would say) questions.
My clients site is in Ireland but the hosting service is in Canada. So when i use the MozBar it states that the IP is in Canada.
Will this affect my page ranking in Dublin, Ireland?
The company is a plumbing service so we would only want local Dublin customers.
Thanks so much and I hope someone can help me out.
cheers,
Aidan

To call John Mu simply as a Google Employee is to undervalue him, as he is the Webmaster Trends Analyst in Google :).
So... knowing who he is, somehow makes even more relevant what he says.

The hosting location shouldn't matter if you host your site using a ccTLD (Country code top-level domain). A Google Employee confirmed this a long time ago and I don't think it changed since then.

Too many links per page? Double navigation on every page...
I have a client with navigation across the top of each page plus the same nav links in a sidebar on every page. Can that duplication (or the sheer number of links) on each page have a negative ranking factor?

Does Google avoid indexing pages that include registered trademark signs?
I am suspecting that Google often hesitates to index pages that have registered trademarks on them that are marked with a ®. For example EGOL® used in the title tag or in the tag at the top of the page. Registered trademarks are everywhere and most retail product pages contain at least one of them. However, most people use the registered trademark names as text in their writing without adding the registered trademark sign of ®. Have you experienced a problem getting such pages indexed or have you read any articles about how Google treats registered trademarks?

Why does my on-page report card say my page title is 403 forbidden when its not?
I'm trying to get on top of my on page stuff and I'm going through the SEO Moz on-page report cards and it says I'm scoring a fail on certain elements within the 'critical' and 'high importance' factors as my page title is '403 forbidden' but when I go on to my site, my sites CMS it's not '403 forbidden' it's the text I entered?

Is there a report in SEOMoz that will show me what keywords each page ranks for on my site?
I would like to find all of the keywords not just the keywords that I specified in the tracking section.

Redirect and page ranking
We used to have a good page rank of Google, but now our page rank dropped to zero. A few months ago we did a redirect from our www.???.com to non-www.???.com, because non-www.???.com is now our main website. We also have a number of other domains which we redirect to our main website non-www.???.com Do you think these redirects are causing the problem, and if so what can we do to fix it? Thanks!
