Why a big difference between PR and mR
-
Hi seomozzers
I have a question regarding metrics on a site I am looking at. Basically the homepage has the following:
DA 33, PA41
mR 5.09, mT 5.84
PR 1
I have also checked an internal page and that has similar mozrank and moztrust and PA 37 but has PR 0.
Can anyone shed any light on the possible reasons (other than a Google penalty) why there should be such a difference between PR and mR as I understood that in general the difference is more likely to be 0.5 to 1. As I do not believe that the site has had any 'help' from black hat tactics and is 9 years old I'm a little perplexed.
Anyone else experience such a discrepancy?
Thanks in advance.
Trevor

Hi Adam Yes, I replied too quickly before putting my brain in gear! Will sift through the data and take a closer look. Thanks again

"40k links from 140 root domains"
Sounds like a bunch of sitewide links...maybe Google is discounting them more heavily than SEOmoz.

Hi Adam
Thanks for the prompt reply. Yes, I agree that such a large difference I assume must be down to Google filtering out link juice from large amounts of links as I can't think of any other reasons.
The site has 40k links from 140 root domains and I'm not aware of any prior linkbuilding except a natural one over the years.
Will be checking out the link profile anyway so will be looking for anything dodgy!
Thanks again

Trevor,
One possible explanation is that their PageRank doesn't reflect recent changes (since the public number I only updated about once a quarter).
For a difference that large, though, I would strongly suspect that Google is discounting some of their inbound links that SEOmoz isn't.

Google keeps marking different pages as duplicates
My website has many pages like this: mywebsite/company1/valuation mywebsite/company2/valuation mywebsite/company3/valuation mywebsite/company4/valuation ... These pages describe the valuation of each company. These pages were never identical but initially, I included a few generic paragraphs like what is valuation, what is a valuation model, etc... in all the pages so some parts of these pages' content were identical. Google marked many of these pages as duplicated (in Google Search Console) so I modified the content of these pages: I removed those generic paragraphs and added other information that is unique to each company. As a result, these pages are extremely different from each other now and have little similarities. Although it has been more than 1 month since I made the modification, Google still marks the majority of these pages as duplicates, even though Google has already crawled their new modified version. I wonder whether there is anything else I can do in this situation? Thanks

Install Wordpress on different folders on the same URL
Howdy Mozers! It's a long story, but I have Wordpress installed on my root domain "example.com" and in "example.com/folder" as well. Will this affect my SEO? Should I delete WP from my folder, and build my pages from a folder on the root domain, like "example.com/folder1"? Hope I've managed to properly explain myself 🙂 Thanks!

Duplicate content on Product pages for different product variations.
I have multiple colors of the same product, but as a result I'm getting duplicate content warnings. I want to keep these all different products with their own pages, so that the color can be easily identified by browsing the category page. Any suggestions?

Can I optimize two different pages with very similar keywords without hurting SEO?
Hi there, I have often heard that you cannot have multiple pages rank for the same keyword. My question here is more about long tail keywords who have the same keyword phrase repeated on different pages. For Example: I have two webpages with different content. I want to have one page (Homepage) rank for the more generic term such as "innovation management" and another supporting page rank for "innovation management software". Will Google see these two different webpages as competing? Should I avoid repeating the more general term in the phrase? Has anyone ever seen your SEO results decline when doing this? I don't believe this is duplicate content since the pages hold completely different copy and assets but I am not sure if the repeating phrase in the title tags will flag anything to the search engines.

Different levels of PA without "www"?
Hello Guy´s! The last days I have been surprised to see that the levels of PA, mR, and mT vary when it is or not the "www" in the URL: 1. http://patagonline.com/viajes-argentina 2. http://www.patagonline.com/viajes-argentina Both URL's correspond to the keyword "viajes Argentina" our incoming links... In this case, it´s convenient to do a 301redirect from URL 1 to 2? Thanks a lot for your help!!

For a UK business where there is no .co.uk or .com opportunity, is it better to have a .net address or would .uk.com be better? Or no difference...This company is UK focussed only.
We have a niche keyword domain possibility but I am not sure which way, if any, is better. The .com and .co.uk options are not available but there are various other ones - including .org, .net, .uk.com. Is there any domain/seo benefit of one version over another? Any thought gratefully received..

Does Selling the Same Product on Different Domains Look Spammy?
Today, I have watched such a great video on YouTube from Google Webmaster Help with following subject. Does selling the same product on three different domains look spammy? Now, I have same issue with my three websites. You can find out details as follow. Traditional Table Lamp in Brushed Steel Finsih with Green Glass http://www.lampslightingandmore.com/50_63_21594/traditional-table-lamp-in-brushed-steel-finsih-with-green-glass.html http://www.vistastores.com/indoorlighting-roycelighting-rtl50091-12b.html 7.5' Patio Umbrella Push Tilt - Olefinhttp://www.vistapatioumbrellas.com/marketumbrellas-californiaumbrella-slpt758-f13-red.htmlhttp://www.vistastores.com/marketumbrellas-californiaumbrella-slpt758-f13-red.htmlThere are three different website with 4000+ same products, same Title tag, same Meta description, same price, same details, same SKU number, same images and same details. There are very few pages indexed by Google for VistaStores.com. [I have submitted series of question on SEOmoz Q & A forum to resolve my website's crawling issue.]I assume that, this is one of biggest reason to stop my crawling. So, How can I fix it?
