SEO Fightback
-
I just got a spam email company (SEO FIghtback) that claims they can create backlinks through trusted Wordpress networks that cannot ever be rejected by google. I believe it to be just another linking company wanting to suck $97 bucks a month out of me, I thought I would ask the experts on this site.
The video was cool....for about 30 second......but that is all I could handle. It ultimately became one of the most irritating commericals ever and truly grated on my last nerve.
Thanks

My guiding principle in linkbuilding, especially since all the Panda/Penguin hoohaw, is that if you can automate it, Google can detect it.
And they've proven they're now willing to punish/devalue it.

I agree with what William wrote, it's just not super easy. In addition to building out the great content, you have to market it. You have to get the word out - you have to do the outreach. It's not enough to build awesome content, you have to share it, via social networks, email, outreach, word of mouth, contacts you may have, the press, etc. You can build the best blog pieces out there, but if no one hears about it, it ain't gonna do you much good.
Adria wrote a great post here on SEOMoz the other day - I'd check it out - http://www.seomoz.org/blog/why-link-building-strategies-fail

Don't even need to look at their site. Best way to build link is doing it in house. Make fresh and intriguing content, and you will be surprised how much that will help.
Invest that $97 a month on building an awesome article/content(video) and you will get great backlinks. Its hard but once you get a hang of it, you will realize how easy it is, with the correct budget in building the content.
And once again, any of these "give me $10 and I'll give you 1 billion links" is just utter BS and bad for you and business.
This really makes our industry harder to teach individuals that it is not as simple as paying someone and they get you backlinks, and we have to reeducate them exactly why and what you should be doing instead of paying for links.
Also Google is known 100% to devalue and even penalize links in blog networks.

Listly and SEO
We use listly quite a lot. A few of our lists get embedded in other sites. A lot of the embedded lists have links back to us. Is there any seo benefit on this, or will just one of the sites count ? Isn't this just duplicate content ? Wondering what your thoughts are.

Are links from every page of a partners website to my website bad for seo?
I have asked a partner website to link to my website in the Menu Bar. Which has resulted in a link to my website from every page of the partners website (Over 1000 Pages). The link is not a "nofollow" link, it is a regular link. Can this have any negative effects in terms of SEO?

With Google's recent phishing expedition and increased focus on natural link profiles etc where does this leave PR distribution with optimized anchor-text? Should I outsource any SEO work or can I do it all?
My website needs a lot of improvement and we are working on it but I also don't want to fall behind on the SEO work. I am guessing that I can do much of it myself through SEOmoz.org but is there a part that busy folks should get others to do? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Utah Tiger
