Changed URLs from Upper to Lower Case, and lost page authority should we switch back?
-
During an overhaul of our site architecture we switched from having capitals in our urls to all lower case, we did the 301's but the page authority is not nearly what it was should we switch back?

We had issues with both caps and non caps being accepted as well as trailing and non trailing slashes causing duplicate content. We decided all lowercase was a bit cleaner, however could switch them back to capitals but have the fixes still in place to not cause the duplication.

If the 301's are in place, I would not worry. The bigger question is, why did you change them in the 1st place ? Was there strong reasoning to change them ? If yes, is that reasoning still valid ?
-
That's what I thought, but It's been about a month and we lost significant rankings. Those links took years to build and not exactly feasible to go back and generate links for all 50 states and thousands of cities.

if its 301ed the pagerank should flow how long has it been since you changed? You should try to get some links to you new url if possible aswell?

Over 40+ pages have been removed from the indexed and this page has been selected as the google preferred canonical.
Over 40+ pages have been removed from the indexed and this page has been selected as the google preferred canonical. https://studyplaces.com/about-us/ The pages affected by this include: https://studyplaces.com/50-best-college-party-songs-of-all-time-and-why-we-love-them/ https://studyplaces.com/15-best-minors-for-business-majors/ As you can see the content on these pages is totally unrelated to the content on the about-us page. Any ideas why this is happening and how to resolve.

After you remove a 301 redirect that Google has processed, will the new URL retain any of the link equity from the old URL?
Lets say you 301 redirect URL A to URL B, and URL A has some backlinks from other sites. Say you left the 301 redirect in place for a year, and Google had already replaced the old URL with the new URL in the SERPs, would the new URL (B) retain some of the link equity from URL A after the 301 redirect was removed, or does the redirect have to remain in place forever?

Changing URL of posts
HI, I need to change the urls and permalink structure of my blogposts. How I have to deal all this with google? Do I have to re-submit the pages to google with fetch as google? Will google display duplicate content of the same article ( having changed the url) or will it automatically replace the old url with the new ones? Tx for your support guys!

"Extremely high number of URLs" warning for robots.txt blocked pages
I have a section of my site that is exclusively for tracking redirects for paid ads. All URLs under this path do a 302 redirect through our ad tracking system: http://www.mysite.com/trackingredirect/blue-widgets?ad_id=1234567 --302--> http://www.mysite.com/blue-widgets This path of the site is blocked by our robots.txt, and none of the pages show up for a site: search. User-agent: * Disallow: /trackingredirect However, I keep receiving messages in Google Webmaster Tools about an "extremely high number of URLs", and the URLs listed are in my redirect directory, which is ostensibly not indexed. If not by robots.txt, how can I keep Googlebot from wasting crawl time on these millions of /trackingredirect/ links?
