Thoughts on Results from Changing Title Tags
-
A number of the client's we represent have seen drops in rankings. The title tags on these sites are formatted old way of doing tilte: "Blue Widgets| Cheap Widgets | Metal Widgets".
We are going to change them to the natural format: Acme Offers Blue, Metal Widgets for Any Budget."
Just wondering if anyone has made similar changes post-penguin and if they've seen improved ranking from doing it.

Sometimes not being consistent helps. Just my 2c. I would look at if there were other reasons. Are your off-page factors pretty well competitive. Did you get a unnatural links warning ? If after all those answers, you still think it's the page titles, change them on a handful of pages and see if you see any movement at all in the SERPS before investing a lot of time, effort and resources in this.

Use of the word Find in Title Tags
Hey, So i'm looking to make content that is optimized for Finding an injury lawyer in boston. The Phrase "Personal Injury Lawyers in Boston" get's a lot more searches than "Find Personal Injury Lawyers in Boston" but with the Find is it less competitive? The same thing goes for "Find lawyers in Boston" vs. "Lawyers in Boston." My question is, is it better to put the word FInd in front or not? Is there a downside?

Rel canonical tag question
Im trying to to fix my duplicate content problem with my catagory pages in my shopping cart. I have read about adding a rel canonical tag to the page so it links back to the main catagory page. So if I add a rel canonical tag to the main catagory page it will show up on every other page for that catagory like page 1 page 2 and so on and it will have the tag linking back to the main cat. That should fix it it right? Now that being said I cant seem to add the tag invetween the head tags. I can add it to the body where I can add content. Will the rel canonical tag work outside the head tags? Any other ideas on this fix? I contacted my people that host the cart to see if they have any features to help this will see what they say.

Strange titles showing in WMT?
On one of my wordpress sites, I have just checked it out in Google Webmaster tools and under duplicate titles it is showing spam titles which I did not add? Lamisil Buy - Buy Online on two pages of the site However these two pages are no longer online? So I have 2 quick questions please 1.) How did they add a title to these 2 pages 2.) Why is it still showing in WMT when these pages are no longer live? Also under duplicate titles it is showing pages that dont exist? i.e. ?yonidza=orde and some of which such as weddings.html are pages from the old site structure that no longer exist - how can I reduce these errors down?

Related keywords in title/H1 tag
Hi, I am trying to improve our rankings for pages with photos/images. For the title is it benificial to include keywords that are almost identical in nature? For example: "Brad Pitt Photos and Images" In Google trends photos and images are both commonly used words so including both seems like it would help. When I search for each one separately in Google (Brad Pitt Photos vs Brad Pitt Images) different sites are returned (except for the ones that include both image and photos keywords). I had read that Google knows that Images and Photos mean the same thing, but the search results do vary. I know stuffing all related combinations isn't good, but selective phrases seem to make a difference. Just want to verify if this makes sense. Thanks
