I've had an issue with to many links on the site. My drop down menu, secondary footer and footer. The report told me that I had 253 links on each page. I then programmed my secondary footer to dynamic and ran a crawl and my links reduced accordingly to 201. Then turned the footer into dynamic and ran a crawl with my links increasing to 1500. This also happened between each phase but en went away. Oddly enough, my domain authority increased as well as other factors in the crawl report. This too many links thing is driving me crazy. Please provide some guidance.

I can't find any inbound links that I know I have on open site, ahref or majestic. Does anyone know why?

Since the linkscape update before Christmas I have built a couple of links to fairly high quality sites. I can't find them on open site though or the other tools I mentioned. I have a client with a bit over 100 inbound links but Open Site Explorer shows total links on Subdomain as over 66,000, how can this be?

I have a client www.woodard247.com that shows only a bit over 100 inbound links. using the Open Site Explorer, they are a well trafficed local site and are not doing any grey hat or black hat techniques. However the rankings for their main keywords have suffered recently and we cannot identify any duplicate content or keyword stuffing issues. We have never purchased links or used link building software. Now for the main question: When we run Open Site Explorer it shows only a bit over 100 inbound links on the page and the domain, but the subdomain shows over 66,000 total links! How can this be possible? Could this be a problem? How can I find out what these links are since Open Site Explorer and Seo Spyglass both show only a hundred or so?

Discrepancies in link reports from SEOMoz and OSE

Hello, I am trying to understand the link profile of my site. In the competitive analysis from SEOMoz, it shows 22K+ of links, with about 900+ being external followed links and 800+ internal. Webmaster tools shows a similar number of external followed links, but the link report from OSE only shows about 150 external followed links. This brings up several questions: Where is this 22K total links coming from? Why is there such a difference in the SEOMoz competitive analysis and the OSE report? Why does the OSE report show some links as not followed, while Webmaster tools lists them as followed? Am new to the off-page aspects of SEO, and I have to say the discrepancy in data from different tools is by far the most challenging thing for me. Would welcome general advice on this topic as well. In OSE "Followed Linking Root Domains" = "links from homepages"

In OSE's, "Followed Linking Root Domains" are defined as "The number of root domains that have at least one followed link to a page or domain." Does this mean that if one of my competitors has, let's say, 1000 followed linking root domains, they have a link pointing to them on the homepage of 1000 other sites? Thanks for your help!

Alexa Ranking Sites

I found these two sites giving my competitor link juice: http://www.webnamelist.com/alexa/Alexa_186.html http://www.list-of-domains.org/alexa/Alexa_185.html I have seen these sites before and I just dont get why they are authoritative. The funny thing is I did a search for my competitors link on the page and its not showing up, is this a problem in site explorer? Why is site explorer mentioning these sites as my competitions best links when these links do not exist on their site?

Internal links not showing in Open Site Explorer

So I'm working on a law firm site and looking at the links for pages in OSE. For practice areas, the links to each practice area are in the left hand menu on every page of the site. Can anyone help me with this question: Example: http://www.comitzlaw.com/personal-injury/car-accidents.html When I plug this URL into OSE, it only shows one linking page, www.comitzlaw.com/practice-areas.html, yet there is a link to this on every other page in the site. When I plug in a random competitors page, www.lesagelblaw.com/Personal-Injury-Overview/Car-Accidents.shtml, it does show all the internal pages linking to it. Since I'm not using a flash menu or javascript, any ideas as to why no internal links are showing up in OSE? Even when I plug in the main URL for the home page, it only shows 4 other internal pages linking to it, yet there is a link on every page. What am I doing wrong?

Competitive link finder not working

Hi guys, I just wanted to check the status of the Competitive Link Finder. I've been trying to use it for well over a week, literally trying it every day and every single time I get the "we may be a little busy" message. Are there any plans to upgrade it? I realise its a labs tool, but its actually a really useful tool which I just don't seem to be able to benefit from whatsoever. Would love to hear what the plans for this tool are. Thanks Al

Re. External Links (link-juice) - I really need to know what this reflects.Ie. linkdiagnosis.com divides the PR by external link factors to get an idea of link juice or power - how does Moz calculate this scoring?
