It's not ideal but it's also not a deal breaker. Always think from a user perspective, if I search for 'big yellow dogs' then I would like to see a page name that further confirms and helps me pick that page.
Big Yellow Dogs - Buy Yellow Dogs Online www.colourfuldogs.co.uk/big-yellow-dogs.html View our range of big yellow dogs and choose from a range of yellows including, sunshine, custard or banana yellow to find the perfect large yellow fellow.
Big Yellow Dogs - Buy Yellow Dogs Online
www.randomurl.co.uk/colours/dogs/big/type.php?&requestedcolour=y.... View our range of big yellow dogs and choose from a range of yellows including, sunshine, custard or banana yellow to find the perfect large yellow fellow.
The first one is just a little more readable and you may win some better anchors if people link to the page organically and it may win a few more clicks and...
It's just a tiny bit better and sometimes that is what matters.
Hope this helps

You wouldn't be able to judge your sites rankings on this metric alone.
How long are the URLs? I would say this factor has a very small weighting when it comes to rankings. If you have a strong domain the search engines shouldn't have a problem with ranking it.
The main issue directly affecting rankings is diluting the keyword match in the URL. This article has a section on URL length which you will probably find helpful:

Is a short URL path stronger than a long one for an eshop?
Hello Moz Fans ! I'm building an eshop website and reviewing a few competitors website I found something interesting on which I don't have the full answer. Will it be better for me to organize the products in sub folder or in the root folder (option 1 or option 2) _Competitor link _shop.com/en/2628-buy-key-origin-the-sims-4-seasons/ Option 1 - Normal organization _+ _We can add relevant KW in /products/ product url will be one folder deep more home/ home/category/ (category page) home/category/subcategory1 home/category/subcategory2 home/products (this page does not exist really) home/products/product1 home/products/product2 Option 2 - less folders _+ _We can add all KW in the link directly it may be less organize for Google home/ home/category/ (category page) home/category/subcategory1 home/category/subcategory2 home/product1 (all product in the direct folders) home/product2

Site Not Being Indexed
Hey Everyone - I have a site that is being treated strangely by google (at least strange to me) The site has 24 pages in the sitemap - submitted to WMT'S over 30 days ago I've manually triggered google to crawl the homepage and all connecting links as well and submitted a couple individually. Google has been parked the indexing at 14 of the 24 pages. None of the unindexed URL's have Noindex or follow tags on them - they are clearly and easily linked to from other places on the site. The site is a brand new domain, has no manual penalty history and in my research has no reason to be considered spammy. 100% unique handwritten content I cannot figure out why google isn't indexing these pages. Has anyone encountered this before? Know any solutions? Thanks in advance.

How could you make a URL/Breadcrumb structure appear different in Google than when you click into site?
I'm seeing a competitor be able to make their URL/Breadcrumb stucture appear different in Google than on the site. Google shows a 3-4 category silo for the page but once clicked the page is off root. How could you do this?

How much of an issue is it if a site is somehow connected to a site that was penalized by Google?
I am working with someone that is about to launch a new site, and one of the sites was affected by the Panda update. Does it matter if the two sites are connected? Share the same hosting provider and same Google Webmaster's account?

Delete old site but redirect domain to a new domain and site
I just have a quick query and I have a feeling about what the answer is so just wanted to see what you guys thought... Basically I am working on a client site. This client has a few other websites that are divisions of their company. However these divisions/websites are no longer used. They are wanting to delete the websites but redirect the domains to their name main website. They believe this will pass on SEO benefits as these old division sites are old and have a good PR and history. I'm unsure for DEFINITE, which way is correct?
